Just trying to help:
You can try to go to the steam controller settings, click the top one (general controller settings) and remove the checkboxes from ALL the controller types, even the one you are using, this should not prevent No Man's Sky from seeing the controller and can possibly fix it. After this just plug in the controller / connect it if wireless, before you start the game. No guarantee though, just thought it was worth a try. I assume you have already tried to verify the game files, of course
Polestar is a really good place to have new people start with. Instead of getting stranded on a planet, you're in a freighter, and you get to explore the galaxy. And when the mission is over, you've got a decent Freighter base to escape to.
Love how Jason gets an A-class frigate, sends it on an aborted mission, and it upgrades to an S-class. 😁😂🤣😂

Don't sell the Crystal Sulfate. You will need it later for the Singularity Drive
It's amusing since you are partially in a speed run mindset. Your whole frigate fuel issue was simply because you didn't select the beginner frigate intro mission in the log and follow it. In your fumbling around, you finally managed to advance it to get the frigate fuel and bp.
I found an amino chamber at the 3rd rendezvous system — I THINK at a terminal, but now I'm not so sure. It may have been from a pilot. Something to keep in mind if you forget it in the 1st system.
You can land on the freighter on the water planet
Fecium… can also kill animals for mordite, then refine it.
You could buy the blueprint for an amino chamber at the anomaly for 250 nanites. It took me 15 seconds and I already had what I needed

did you notice your frigate went from a 4 stat a class to a 5 star s class
I really like the expeditions, the fresh start and everyone going at it, progressing. I hope they eventually develop a mode with an actual player driven economy somehow. Supply and demand. Seasonal resets with new and interesting expeditions/features. Path of Exile style.
You can tell if it's a maned distress beacon if there is no distress beacon ball

Did they fix refiners?
If you short cut the frigate missions, use the high star ones. Then you can send out a quick one star and collect the lootz from it.

You can land on the crashed freighter parts that are above water.
I think this run is punishment for how well his Speed Run on the Looper Redux Expedition last week.
Nintendo Switch version has the optional visit friends freighter milestone removed. Checked rewards optional rewards don't exist. Nintendo Switch players are at disadvantage from other versions.
Thank you, Jason, for all your hard work putting out these videos to help newer players like me. By showing your rare mistakes and forgetfulness you humanize nms for me. A perfect run is intimidating. However, I am going to skip the optional freighter visit. There are many wonderful players with great tips in the comments and who set up helpful bases in the expedition, but after getting burned in two Nexus group missions I will not play multiplayer again. I have responded to the kindness that I have received by giving excess resources to other players at the anomaly when I am done with the expeditions while very briefly being in multiplayer. That is as far as I will go. I don’t plan on keeping this save so it’s no loss.
Hey Jason you can also find drowned starships with your nautilon. And you also could’ve just gone to the anomaly and bought the blueprint for amino chambers so you could craft. Potentially faster assuming you have what you need. Lastly, just in case you didn’t know, you can very often get storm crystals from derelict freighters. Hope some of this helps for your speed run!
Oh and also can always kill a critter to get Mordite and refine that into faecium. If you don’t mind killing a critter that is.
i found the pirate system greate place for start up unites and nanites. that way you easily make 20+ million units and 100k+ nanites. and a pirates system is very close the first expedition point. also you so take care of the kill x amount of space pirate expedition task same time. also there is new freighter mods for those frigate missions for the freighter. to fix your controller shutdown steam client and restart your steam client while your controller is plugged in that will reidentify your controller. they moved the controller identification in the steam client launch sequence. or you can try rerun your steam controller setup to identfieyed manually.
btw easiest area to farm oxigen is now water planets due to most under water planets give lots of oxigen. and having that submarine allows you to mine alot of oxigen. + can later when unlock even build oxigen extractors there. clear the expedition today, is a expeition with oen of the easier tasks.
Hey I also play on PC but use PS4 controller as long as you are bluetooth connected and turn your controller on before launching the game you will overcome that issue with the interface not recognizing you are using a controller
