A man was pulled to safety by groups of rescuers using ropes after he fell down a waterfall while “taking a selfie”.
Gopal Pundlik, 30, lost his balance and fell over the edge of the rocks while visiting Ajanta caves with friends.
He slipped while “attempting to click the perfect selfie with the serene beauty of the waterfall,” local sources said.
He managed to grab onto a rock and keep his head above water while his friends called from help from Archaeological Survey of India workers and the police.
Gopal was hauled to safety by two groups of police and ASI workers who each pulled on a rope attached to his body.
Video from the scene in Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar district in western India’s Maharashtra shows him being pulled up to the ledge, on July 23.
A source said it took them nearly an HOUR to pull him up and added: “The waterfall at Ajanta Caves is flowing heavily due to heavy rains in the past few days. The beauty is at its full charm during the rainy season.
“The tourists are thronging the cave area to enjoy the exotic beauty of nature.
“They often click selfies at the tip of the mountain from where the waterfall starts.”

Ooo Mr Death isn’t going to like this one. He doesn’t like when humans interfere with Darwinism
these morons with their asinine selfies should face a years salary fine or not be allowed to own a smart phone for ten years. they casually put at risk the lives or rescuers for their gigantic egos
A waste of latent intelligence, and then a waste of resources. What a fool!
What? "taking a selfie" !!!
This happens when you mix technology with a damaged brain 🤣
