DRY POUR CONCRETE SLAB REPAIR- @CajunCountryLivin TO THE RESCUE!

It’s been about a month since we did our very first (of many to come) dry pour slabs, something we’ve never done before, and we were not fully prepared for the wrath Mother Nature unhinged on our project.
We were SO upset that our finish was not perfect and we weren’t able to do this method the justice it deserves, but as in all things, God had a plan. One messed up slab has turned into the beginning of a lifelong friendship with Jim and Lydia from @CajunCountryLivin. We are so thankful for their willingness to share this method of pouring concrete with us and the world, to give people the confidence to be able to think outside the box, go against the grain and DIY the heck out of whatever concrete project you can muster up.
We had SO MUCH FUN with Jim, Lydia and Lady and are so grateful came up and helped us get this project done! Not a bit of it felt like actual work, and we are already looking forward to the next project to tackle together.. maybe down in Cajun Country!
Big shoutout to Ladly for being the cutest butterfly transporter, Finley for filming and keeping Ladly entertained, and CJ for helping with all the odd jobs and the extra camera angles he filmed for us!

  1. I was excited to see on @CajunCountryLivin that they were visiting y'all. It looks like y'all had a great time. Ladly is such a precious girl. Jim and Lydia are the kind of folks I wish I had as neighbors… y'all as well. I'm just starting on your channel and I'm sure the binge watching will start soon so I can catch up. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

  2. I think Life in Pines and Cajun Country Livin' needs to pop in on Can't Contain Us next.

But you need T-Shirts like a Rock Band with the tour dates and cities.

  3. I watch both YouTube channels. It is so cool to see you all together and having fun. I am from Louisiana now, but I'm originally from New Mexico. With the culture shock that we have experienced in Louisiana I understand more now after watching Cajun country living. Thank you both channels for sharing each channel with your viewers and I'm glad to watch both of them. I have only communicated on this channel because I did not know what to say to the people here in Louisiana where I live now because living in Louisiana is totally different experience from New Mexico and I would be embarrassed to say much more than that. Maybe sometime in the near future I'll have the guts to communicate with the people in Louisiana and not be embarrassed. You guys are so amazing keep up the good work.

  4. Well that was a fun episode. My two favorite youtube channels doing a Collab. I'm sure y'all had a blast. Can't wait to see how it holds up thru the winter. I think I'm going to do my dry pour within the next couple weeks.

  5. Ladies love smart, hard working men. You guys hard work has attracted two beautiful, capable, smart ladies. Did I mention beautiful? I prefer you tube over regular TV. Keep up the great work. All my drypour projects have turned out great as well saved me a bit of money. You folks have it figured out. Pass along great information as well visual stimulation for old men. No offence intended.

  6. New sub over from those two Cajun hootiseses. Glad to see you get that chicken porch done. I mean….who wants a rough chicken porch, right ? It just wouldn't be right !😁

  7. Welcome to a new SUB eh. Yup I am a Minnesotian from the twin cities. I think that I am going to love this channel as I plan my retirement in Hinkley. Not quite the Great White North — but close.
    Wanna go with?
