New World: What It's Like 80 Hours In

Here’s all the progress I’ve made in New World over the last 80 hours, playing largely solo. I know others are further, but I am proud of my many, dull accomplishments, even if I just hit another story wall.

  1. This feels more like Runescape than an actual competitor to popular current MMOs. It doesn't have Black Desert tier graphics, lacks the story of FFXIV and seems to be primarily PvP/crafting focused. Still not seeing what's going to keep people beyond this 'new/first MMO" phase.

  2. For all the hype this game was pretty disappointing honestly. That being said I own it now so can go back after another year or so of content development.

  3. This game is really rough. Bad is subjective, but i fucking hate it lol. It’s basically Guild wars 2 “World vs World” game mode, but if it was an entire game and also a million times grindy-er. Save yourself the time

  4. For me being 80+ hours in is like being 0 hours in.
Because the official Twitter account lied, and now I'm stuck in a region where I was told I'd be able to transfer from to the rest of my friends.
Level 44, all gathering at minimum 100, weapon skills at 18/15/12/10.

Doubt I'll continue playing unless the devs keeps their promise of regional transfers.
