The rescue team spots a seal with a nasty entanglement. Naude manages to net the seal and identifies the entanglement as a packaging strap that cuts deeply into the seal’s skin. The seal should heal in a few days. We document ocean pollution’s effects on seals, but we want to bring attention to the main culprit: waste mismanagement. If waste were disposed of sustainably, then none of this would’ve occurred. We need every person to make the necessary changes to create a future with a healthier ocean. 🦭

  22. I'm always amazed at just how strong these seals are, despite the terrible and debilitating injuries. If not for the continous, amazing efforts from all the OCN team to rescue those in need and spreading awareness, many more seals would not have their second, and in many cases third chance to thrive.Thank you OCN.
