So I've been looking online and many news articles say co-op is 4 players. But I was only able to get only 3.
I really do not understand why co-op in this game needs to be such a pain. Why not make it easy like Outriders and just invite-summon someone. Dont like jumping throu hoops just for co-op.
you can go into the dungeon area past the spawn point, and place them in there and friends can go fight the boss there in the dungeon together. we discovered this accidentaly. Because if you have friends online in your map there is a barracade at the entrance. But go in past the respawn point and put one down.

how do you recharge flask in coop? all the spots of grace are unusable in coop….
Only part you missed is that if either person dies, it splits you back apart again. The worst implementation of co-op I've ever seen in any game

Is it possible to summon a friend again in the same area you just defeated a boss in? just helped a friend with Tree Sentinel, we wanted to head to lake dragon afterwards but he can't see my sign anymore
So what happens if the summoned partner dies? Does that mean the summoner will need to craft the needed item again in order to summon the partner? And are there any rewards/benefits for the summoned partner for playing co op other than helping a friend?

Stupidest game mechanic ever. I can understand to start a co-op session but each time you die you get split again.. so dumb and this game will suffer for it. (Cue the nerds to the defense of a broken mechanic)

One of the weakest part about Elden Rings is this convoluted coop system. They purposely made it super difficult to do multi-player to maintain the spirit of a Souls game which might or might not have been the right decision.
Me and my sister bought this game to play together. At no time did we EVER see anything in print that warned us about this terrible co-op crap. How in the world, in this modern day and age we live in, would any game creator believe that this horrible mode of multiplayer was going to make game purchasers happy? I want my money back.
When you die the game kick you to your session so you have to redo everything again and again
