I wasn't a Warhammer kid growing up, unfortunately, so I missed out on some of these cursed-but-great games; but honestly, hearing you rave about Shadow of the Horned Rat makes me want to go play it.

Probably the most fun mods I've seen yet. I was impressed by the Yin Yin mods, but this one definitely tops it. Its like playing the Ogre Kingdoms if the mechanics doesn't sucks ***.
I do wish the Heroes isn't auto recruited and instead hired like a normal heroes because you know, upkeep. And what happens if you disband them? Are they gone forever? Hmm…

Named myself after this Perfect Commander! One of the first games I ever played was Shadow of the Horned Rat and it kicked my perviibial arse cos it was a nails game. But Commander Bernhardt for the win. Dont forget Alor the Amber Wizard started with the best spell in the game! Although for me he always died to a rat oger

Dude this is AWESOME
I feel this is such an easy campaign with the high tier units you get from restoring settlements. So i feel to play this mod you should go around more roleplaying rather than laying waste to everything like i did. I went to the darklands and restored everything got some strong arty and a hammerer and ironbreaker frontline, and the grudgebringer units get really strong. I also feel the faction ends up with a very easy auto resolve win rate.

That button in Shadow of the Horned Rat you were meant to keep clicking repeatedly and it buffed some of your units stats, I believe it was strength and weapon skill if I recall correctly (weapon strength and melee attack in TWW terms) worth playing Dark Omen if you never have done, although it doesn't have quite the same nostalgia it is objectively a much better game than Horned Rat in terms of graphics and gameplay
Is a good mod, slightly annoys me that Bernhardt has generic empire general voice and lines. Would have been nice if they had got some new stuff done by someone who sounds like the original guy, or hell, he probably would have recorded a few lines for them if they asked
