That intro cinematic had me mostly confused: is this a sequel to another game, or are they just very weird with dropping random names as if they are supposed to mean something to the player? What's an Elden Ring? Who was that queen early on and why did she disappear? The amount of drama in the narrator's voice suggested I should care, but without context… I found it mostly puzzling rather than compelling.
That said, the first bits of gameplay look promising.

So when it comes to Dark Souls I like the gameplay and the locations but the setting makes no bloody sense to me – like I don't get the nature of the world itself.
So this game having an setting I can understand and enjoy in combo with gameplay and locations that I like make it above the previous.
