Splash Mountain demo escalates + progress at Tianas Palace | Disneyland Construction 06-26-2023

Thought we’d be in a quiet demo phase at Splash Mountain for a little while, but things have escalated quickly. Scaffolding up around the tree stump on top of the mountain, indicating that they are preparing to REMOVE it. Plus we’ve got some fun updates at Tianas Palace, San Franswokyo, Downtown Disney and even some news on Tortilla Joes!

Its definitely the well of souls site❤
    I love indianna Jones too❤❤
I'm also getting so excited for the tree house to come back, low key trying to figure out how to put a water wheel in my back yard along with my tiki room bar situation lol I'm just gonna reconstruct adventureland in my backyard 😅

  2. I'm not mad at all that they are building a princess and the frog restaurant and ride attraction. But scrapping the parks best ride at least consistent top 3 ride, without asking and just forcing it with a few months notice. Very unprofessional. Very unpleasant. Very much feeling like a backstab. And Not Cool at All. Disney sucks for this very much.

  3. Hi David! I went to Disneyland this weekend. Cast Member Bob told us that the Silhouette shop will be closing permanently in July. Will you be covering the close? TY!

  4. @freshbaked, the question you had about the tropical hideaway: it is most likely and access panel for a sump pump that is below, which the sump pump either helps control the water features for tropical hideaway OR it is in correlation with the Restroom project. The restroom project they are most likely replacing the backflows along with new piping. there might even be a sewer ejector pump (not usually used in that type of setting) but given the amount of excuvation, they might had done a long-term temporary repair to buy them time, now over those years have expired Disney needs to fully rectify the original problem. Again just speculation, but given all the type of construction nearby (water-related) the county or city may have flagged them for corrections/ or Disney took the time to get ahead of it and upgrade…

  5. So sad to see Splash Mountain being destroyed. I'll probably never go back to Disneyland at this point given the state of what is going on. I've never been able to get through the Princess and the Frog. I've tried to watch the film but every time I've turned it on I've fallen asleep from sheer boredom. Totally forgettable. Just my sad $0.02 worth…

  6. I think they’re putting that concrete down early in DTD behind the tree so they can move the construction walls back a bit, giving guests more room to walk from the hotels.

  7. A little bit of neon signage for the wharf will (imo) really add to the guest experience at night. The addition of 'Tiana's' story (gift shop, restaurant, ride) to NO Square will be a big 'home run' for Disneyland.
All this work at both parks (including the Toontown redo) will push the guest enjoyment & experience to a higher level…and with what's coming with 'D-Foward', it's a VERY bright (and profitable) future for both parks…
NOW, if they can just apply some serious attention to Tomorrowland!

  8. We enjoyed last December with everything running and no walls! (except the oh-so-slow treehouse work). Walls walls walls….I admit this would be a bit annoying for us going right now.

  9. I have to say the crazy amount of change happening at the same time at Disneyland right now is kinda frustrating. Not because it's changing but because there's too much construction compared to usual and takes away from the magic.
