Questions are mounting about how a Titanic tourist submersible carrying five people could have vanished, as time runs out to find it.
The sub disappeared on June 18, and rescue crews only have until June 22 to save the lives of those on-board.
Neetu Garcha speaks with Titanic expert and author Tim Maltin about the kind of conditions someone would face at the depths of the North Atlantic, what to make of the timeline of the vessel’s disappearance, and a New York Times report claiming OceanGate Expeditions was warned in 2018 of potential “catastrophic” problems of such endeavours.

You gotta remember the sole purpose of this "tourist event" is that you get to brag to others that youve seen the titanic, probably something the CEO wanted to do to make himself feel more self-affirmed. A selfish cause with a dangerous means of obtaining it. Do not trust billionaires.

This feels like a story you'd read on a computer 200 years in the future after the nuclear apocalypse. And Fallout fans here?
Prayer is great and I too hope they will be found alive. But guys don't you think we need to think about this deeper. Those guys knew exactly what they were getting into. Oceangate had multiple warnings about the unsafety of its craft. Hell one of the engineers who stood up to Stockton Rush about the safety issues was fired. So here we are in 2023, spending millions of Canadian and US tax payer (my) dollars to save these idiots. In my opinion the government should not intervene in this. Oceangate should cough up every last penny spent on this search and rescue or do the search and rescue themselves. And what would happen after they are rescued, Oceangate would go out again on another dive the next day. There are so many other important issues to worry about.

The fact the colour doesn't Co trast with the ocean water made it clear for me right away safety protocols weren't taken into consideration. Look at any other sub marine that isnt built for stealth and you see what I mean.
It is tragedy, and I feel sorry for the families. However, worse things than this happen everyday to non biljonairs and are happening right now, let's put our attention to that and see how we can help those people where possible.
