I lived in Daegu for two years, and you wouldn't even know from riding the subway because of how well it's run. Terrible to know this had happened a few years before I was there though. (Also, it's more like "joong ong no")

Unbelievable that the second conductor stopped the train instead of just passing through the station, which is probably what most people would do in that situation. Why in the world did he stop next to the burning train?!

All the subway trains I’ve always used have bypass valves for emergency door opening by the passengers! Either the Korean are so disciplined to rather die than disobey a driver, or something is fishy in this story!
Jungangro literally means middle/central street so it's for sure a central area
The main thing would be to go somewhere you can open the windows and doors safety, Never staying next to another train on fire.

The last 30ish seconds of the video showed the station having doors. I really hope the station's doors are easy to break, else they might imprison future passengers in another disaster.
