  1. You don't have to love the same shows your husband does, but it is good for both of you to appreciate what each other loves – my wife and I had many shows in common, but some we didn't agree on, but we always wanted that window into each other's minds.

  2. This and Thunderbirds man. I truly love both those movies, because they are faithful recreations of the source material in live action. And yeah, they're kind of kiddie, but regardless, it still gives me the warm fuzzies every time I watch them!

  4. This movie stands out to my as one of my favorites of my childhood. It’s got a lot of good philosophical/ political clash, which I enjoy, wrapped up in high-speed action, adventure, and the spice of racing. I really hope that eventually racing becomes more like this. Although I know that there’s racing in the wilderness (like the 24-hrs of Le Mans)

  5. When I was a kid I use to watch this on TV along with Astro Boy, Gigantor, Prince Planet and Kimba the White Lion. The latter was ripped off by Disney, almost scene to scene, and is known to the world as The Lion King.

This is a popcorn movie and it's fun to watch. I don't know if you would want a serious Speed Racer movie! Those long leaps across the room. The screaming while he spins uncontrollably in the car? The Mammoth car! LOL! Nah! Gotta keep it campy.

  6. I think the best anime to live action movies would be "rurouni Kenshin" movies. Also you should try to go out of your comforting Hollywood movies to go international sometimes. I believe Hollywood is creatively exhausted now.

  7. This was a surprise to be sure but a much welcomed one. I'm totally in your camp by saying this film is truly under appreciated. After I watch this film when I was younger, me and my brother where hooked. My Dad got me the whole original animated series of Speed Racer and I loved it, but I have sadly never finished it. I mean this film came out up against films like The Dark Knight and Iron Man which where both amazing films in their own rights, it was when people liked darker and more realistic films. This film was truly ahead of its time and we're only staring to appreciate it now. Nice video btw. Keep it up!

  9. I assume your internet woes are behind you now? If not, T-Mobile is also offering a 5G based internet service to compete with Verizon's. Options if you have good signal from either carrier but wired internet providers continuing to fail.

  10. Not a terrible movie, but dear lord… Spritle and the monkey are by far the worst parts and the movie would have benefited if they were away on a trip somewhere else. Otherwise, yeah, the movie is OK.

  11. It would be really cool if Jen reacts to tron legacy. Another movie ahead of its time that revived a lot of criticisms and a movie that like you said with speed racer they did not knew how to market.

  12. Great film, painfully underrated. One of the most faithful Anime-based adaptations despite the liberties they took to approach building the overall narrative. I hated this movie when I was younger, but as I got older and revisited it, I really began to grasp how much of a gem it is. Its only major flaw was its timing: it got released shortly after Iron Man in 2008 when the MCU was getting its start, and it quite obviously got overshadowed.

  13. I thought you were going to trash this movie. Surprised you liked it obviously. I'm not an anime guy. I love DBZ and Saint Seiya but that's about it. However, I did like Speedracer show, when I saw this I was extremely disappointed. I'm glad you liked it though. All movies are subjective and movies just hit people differently.
