Many people have been misled by previews to think that this is “big” dark souls or dark souls 4 with a jump button and a horse. A lot of people don’t like the difficulty, invasions or difficult combat of the souls series. To all of these people I say: please try it anyway.
Since 2011, Skyrim has been re-released 10 times. That’s something like once per year, always with successful sales, and we all know it was an iconic game and want to relive it now and then. Also since 2011, the gaming world has clamored for “Skyrim Online” and “Skyrim with Good Combat” – both of which were somewhat delivered in broken pieces by user-made mods and some other open world games.
Elden Ring is the Skyrim of the 2020’s, and it’s also Skyrim Online and Skyrim with Good Combat. It’s also Skyrim without a million bugs, and with many innovative exploration features thanks to the verticality of the levels, agility of your mount, and overall ingenious placing of waygates.
Elden Ring is a game that will redefine both open world and souls games, much like Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls redefined Action RPG into a new “Soulslike” category.
It’s February, God of War is in the horizon and Starfield is releasing in November, but I am still incredibly confident that Elden Ring is the Game of the Year, and possible Game of the Decade, if it doesn’t get outdone by an Elden Ring 2.
Summary: Elden Ring is FromSoftware’s Magnum Opus, and it’s hard to imagine them making a better game. The only negatives are performance related, which can by and large be overlooked. Elden Ring delivers on a scale that few games ever have, and likely ever will again. A day one buy for RPG and open world fans. Don’t miss out on this once in a decade experience!

I wish From Software would improve the graphics of their games, they should update/optimize their engine. Elden Ring looks great, nonetheless.
Wondering if it lives up to the hype? I wonder more about the sun rising or whether my nuts will bang painfully into my outer thigh because of their elasticity… ignore that last part, it was totally a joke.

Skyrim ? the proper camparison is to Zelda:BOTW. Skyrim is a very different experience, althogh it has a great exploration experience its also about vast gameplay mechanics like, picking locks, creating new spells/potions/weapons/magical weapons, ranking up in the different guilds, making friends and enemies in the different settelements, etc… I think Elden Ring is narrower than that – exploration and combat – done masterfully.
Graphics 6/10 very old. Gameplay is better in horizon. I dont like souls story so much this dark games. Of course its a good game but why 10/10? This is bullshit marketing

9:25 – Thank you, that’s what I wanted to know most. I’m running an RTX 2060 and Ryzen 5 5600x. I was concerned about the performance on PC. Unfortunately i’ll have to wait to get it on PS5, when I can actually purchase one.
If the game is easier I'm not playing it. I'm sorry but half the fun is overcoming the challenge.

The reason Elden Ring is so good is the same reason why the last 5 Star Wars related movies ranged from meh to war crime. It's the reason why the Amazon Tolkien show will be terrible. It's the same reason why Amazon's Wheel of Time show was added to the Hague's list of things that will get you executed. It's the reason GOT season 7 was worse than 6, and 8 was worse than 7. It's the reason the recent He-Man series sucked. It's the reason Ghostbusters 2016 was a travesty. It's the reason that new Battlefield game was DOA, and the previous one sold poorly.(I'm not an FPS guy, so maybe it was COD. It's the "historically realistic" WWII one that included the fully functional, tactile, responsive bionic arm that was so popular during WWII.) It's the reason why the announcement for the newest Saint's Row title was almost universally hated.
Elden Ring will be great because it isn't just a vehicle to cram politics down our collective throats. The focus is on making a great product instead of meeting character diversity quotas. The previous Fromsoft games were very popular and well regarded, so Fromsoft knows what fans loved. Every time a franchise adds a title, you always see people hoping it is like the other games in the series, but with improvements, rather than being changed until it's completely unrecognizable.
Or, to put it simply… "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I think they should have had different skins of the mount. Like a horse, bull, hell a deer… so depends on what type of class or armor you wear would have been great to see.
Pre-loaded last night 47 GB – days off 24th and 25th – today and tomorrow. 1:30-ish am now…damn waiting is hard! Don't think I'll be crashing tonight! AND they're taunting me! My Steam library page says "PLAY" with a "Coming Feb. 24, 2022" line beside it. It's the 24th…and all we can do is wait another few hours watching the clock slowly tick down.

Okay, now that reviews are out im HYPED! I can feel safe in the knowledge that hyping is a-ok with this game… however, how is the anti cheat? and what will it be like compared to ds3… which btw, has MAJOR security concerns right now.

Nope. It's still never pre-order over here, and you can still get the guide if you buy before the game releases in your respective timezone. This is all assuming you're buying a digital version of the game, of course.
