Visiting the Shoshone Museum to Check Out the Prehistoric Mammoth Bones of Ancient Lake Tecopa

Welcome to Wonderhussy Adventure #730
Date of adventure: 6/16/23

In 1981, a group of geology students stumbled on some prehistoric mammoth skeletons in the desert just east of Death Valley. These bones were over 600,000 years old…and you can view them for yourself, FOR FREE, in the quaint and fascinating Shoshone Museum! Aside from the mammoth bones, there are all kinds of interesting exhibits in this little desert museum — so next time you’re passing through the area, stop in and have a look!

  1. That was a cool episode. Learned some stuff. Thanks for sharing! And don't go off searching for skeletons in half buried vehicles where rattlesnakes could be!
Besides Jimmy Hoffa isn't buried anywhere near Vegas. Lol. Safe travels Wonderlady. BILSTEIN's should take you anywhere you choose to trek.
