Titanic Tourist Sub Missing With Major Search And Rescue Operation Underway

A sub used to take tourists to see the wreckage of the Titanic has vanished with five people on board, including a Brit billionaire.

Rescue crews are frantically searching the Atlantic Ocean after the £200,000-a-head voyage disappeared.

Five people are on board the missing sub, the US Coastguard has confirmed.

One of them has been named as aviator and businessman Hamish Harding.

The 58-year-old is known as one of the leaders of the record-breaking mission to orbit the Earth via both poles in 2019.

The Chairman of the British Titanic Society has told TalkTV of the missing submersible that, “when you undertake a dive such as this, the passengers and the crew, they do realise the possibility of an incident such as this happening.”

David Scott-Beddard gave his thoughts on the incident and the craft – which is used to take tourists to the site of the Titanic wreck – on Jeremy Kyle Live, and said he hopes and prays the divers come back safely.

Jeremy asked Scott-Beddard for his reaction to what has happened.

He said, “It’s clearly very distressing news. This is the first incidence of this type since Titanic was discovered in September of 1985, so primarily our thoughts are with the crew and members of the public who are tourists onboard the submersible.”

  1. Its ONLY A SEARCH MISSION, THERE IS NO CAPABILITY TO RESCUE THEM. There is ONLY ONE SUB that has the capability to possibly get to them but not save or retrieve them. They are goners! Millionaires/Billionaires paying 250k for a seat on a PROTOTYPE DEATH TRAP to go see a graveyard on the ocean floor and now become permanently part of it, how ironic.

  2. It’s so disturbing to see some people making jokes about this situation in the comments. Some people are so far from reality and the fact that this is real people not a movie scene. I will never understand what goes through the mind of others. The general message should be the hope they are all found safe and it’s in gods hands.

  3. Wow what a risk , they can’t find something better to spend $250,000 on then going down in a cramped Campbell’s soup can with no bathroom , no food and 96 hours of air , didn’t they ever see appollo 13 ? Well it’s the same thing in the ocean if the submarine didn’t implode what an agonizing death in total darkness and no one’s coming to rescue you my god people value your life more you only have one

  4. How deep can the deepest submarine crush?

How deep can a submarine dive?

The latest open literature says that a US Los Angeles-class test depth is 450m (1,500 ft), suggesting a maximum depth of 675–900m (2,250–3,000 ft)

They are doomed. They will not be found for a long time. Why? They are all just greasy smears on the inside of that vessel.

Explosive decompression (ED) is violent and too fast for air to escape safely from the lungs and other air-filled cavities in the body such as the sinuses and eustachian tubes, typically resulting in severe to fatal barotrauma. Physics really sucks.

  5. Omg are all msm literslly printed the same paper to read to the public across entire world. Watched 4 news reports in regards to this. 5 people may be dead and all we hear is about beitish billionaire. EVERY life is equally valuable. Why is this dude getting all the attwntion just because he has more money? No one cares about him any more than the other 4 people so either mention them all or dont mention any of them. This industry has also become greedy. 250k to go down in a submersible. With 4 people going down adsuming theres a crew member.. thats 1 milllion per trip. Truly taking advantage of peoples enthusiasm and pockets

  6. This is an extremely dangerous and remote area to launch a rescue missing. Catastrophic failure could have been very probable. My prayers are with the crew and their families

  7. Some equipment is ready to leave Guernsey in the Channel Islands BUT held up by "paperwork" to enter the states! Go via Canada , Halifax NS. The time is running out for these people.

  8. $250,000 dollars a seat?! If you paid me $250,000 an hour to go into that tub and down to the Titanic resting site, I wouldn't do it, let alone pay for it!

I pray that (they) find the submersible in time to rescue those people; that is a terrible way to die.
