Crews battle structure fire in downtown Los Angeles



Crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department battled a greater alarm blaze at one-story commercial building in downtown Los Angeles, authorities announced Thursday evening.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene, located at 705 E. 9th St., at around 9:41 p.m. where they flames were seen burning through the structure’s roof, LAFD said, adding that crews have taken a defensive position with the fire.

It is unclear how the fire started, but Sky5 video showed heavy flames and smoke coming from the commercial structure.

  1. Gonna start seeing a lot more fires and housing displacement. Sprinkle in retail business and pharmacies leaving, limiting supply increasing crime, more gun laws. They want destruction and dependency. Say what you want about the right but the left is downright disasterous.

  2. Where is the "Union Hotel" signage outside of this building?

    The commercial businesses that show open with the rolling doors up have a name for the public to see, so what is really happening over there?? WHAT IS DONE IN THE DARK WILL COME INTO LIGHTS NO MATTER THE SOURCE OF THE LIGHTS.. Too much airtime for this 1 fire.
