Attorneys for Laurie Shaver, the woman accused of killing her husband, Michael Shaver who was found buried underneath a concrete slab in the backyard of a Lake County home, said a teenage girl has confessed to the murder, according to a motion filed last week. The girl would have been 7 years old at the time of the homicide which reportedly happened in November 2015, court records show.

I'm not believing this for a moment if the child shot the father at the age of seven all they had to do is call the police the child would not have been charged.
They are just getting younger and younger these days. It’s their culture.
How can a 7 yr old little girl have enough knowledge about guns and the strength/dexterity/accuracy to shoot him in the head? very unlikely.
What if the dad is the real victim here? What if the mom was the aggressive partner and finally snapped and deleted him then used the minor daughter as the scapegoat to try tp escape the justice system. We will never know.
Even if she did she won't be charged
No matter what weapon you shoot, it's going to be heavy and have a slight kickback to it. If you've never shot a gun before as a child, it's almost instinct to not hold it very tightly. That thing would have flown out of her hands with or without grip. I've seen it happen with adults even. I'm having a hard time imagining a 7 year old having the strength for proper enough aim to shoot the dad in the head during some altercation with her mother. There's always a lottery chance that I'm wrong and I get that. Right now it just feels like the daughter is trying to be a scapegoat for her mother. This poor girl. Either way, whether it's true or not, she needs extensive psychological counseling.

What a scum of a mother, blaming the daughter to get off a murder charge. How could a 2yr old child, hold a gun with the weight and pull a trigger and hit the father in the back. Seems the wife shot him while he running away for his life, before she shot him in the back. Life insurance $$$

Hope forensics can figure out what happened. I'm finding the story somewhat unbelievable. The daughter may as a teenager want to take the consequences to save her mom from long term prison sentence. Only they know the truth.

Very easy to assess if the child pulled the trigger. They just have to examine the bullet trajectory to determine the height of the killer. They have the remains, so it should be a clear-cut case.
There child isn’t responsible bc the mother gave access to gun. Adults are responsible for their own weapons period.
If is true there should be no more punishment than what they already have. Many years apart and living in a cell away from loved ones and the girl growing with that remorse 😢. They already paid enough ❤

The child has not confessed to the crime. Mom has come up with this story to try to keep her sorry carcass out of prison for killing him. Blaming it on a child. IF the child was involved in it at all it was under tbe coaching of mommy dearest. A lot of commenters thinking the child was present at the killing. I'm not sure she was involved in the actual crime itself at all. Mom could have brainwashed the child into believing she had done it. What a burden for a child to carry. We need more info!
I call bullshit!! Mom just wants out of jail. If the Dad was attacking her and the daughter defended her by shooting her Dad, that would have been the story from day 1. Daughter would have gotten counselling and mother wouldn’t be in jail. This is 100% a made up bullshit story.
I find this hard to believe, if the daughter really shot the father because the mother was being attacked, why wouldn't they call the police when they could prove that it was self defense? There was no reason to hide the murder. If the girl is confessing, the family either brainwashed her or she's just trying to get her mother out of jail.
I am always skeptical of self defense “he/she attached me/my mother” cases where police or ambulance weren’t called immediately.
This woman is clearly (IMO) trying to put this on her daughter. Look at her mugshot … does she look scared, concerned, or hurt? No . . . she looks angry! Also notice she's not battered, bruised, or swollen. Aww hell, if she smiled she could probably do a Revlon commercial. Look at her hair, her makeup, her skin . . . all in tact. So if that guy was beating the crap out of her & she OR the daughter shot him in self defense, either one should have GSR on their hands. What the hell is taking so long to verify?

is not new. .
One incident, a young angry, pre-adolescent son shot and killed his father,
the ambulance came, but before the father died,
he told them his son didn't meant to do it, it was an accident, then he died.
The son went free, but in his 40s, he became a born-again
Christian, and began to let the truth out.
There was nothing the court could do, because the father had lied just
before he died, to protect his young son, and keep him out of a
life in prison.
If the girl had done it at 7, all the mother would have to do is tell the truth. They weren't going to send the 7-yr-old to baby prison.
Now the mom, who killed her husband under whatever circumstances, wants to change her story to throw doubt on everything. Utter nonsense.
Both of them should dissappear. Hiding the crime negates the defense.
A 7 year old would not have been put on trial.
But the mother would have.
Not buying it.
She would not remember anyway. You can remember 7, yes but she wouldn’t remember if she really wants her mother out.
