At level 50 you can take part of an invasion. New World invasions are all about having a good PvE group to defend your forts. These invasions are very difficult as the mobs are scaled around level 60 to 65 and come at you from all angles. You’re gonna need some geared friends to take them on.
Sadly the rewards are the same as the wars. Not sure if it’s even worth playing this game mode if it isn’t your territory you’re worried about. When you lose some of your buildings in the settlement and fort will be downgraded by one tier. Not a huge deal if you have the funds.

I think I saw a frost guy shooting through a player trying to distract him and still hit the enemy that was flagged behind the unflagged guy.
So maybe it works for muskets as well?

Clearly you're further in the game and probably know a little more than I do
But is the great axe musket build good?
Wouldn't it be worth it for you to use 2 dex scaling weapons
So for the same number of points it takes to max out strength and Dex you could focus on Dex scaling
