Thailand Pride celebrations kick off in Bangkok – BBC News

Pride celebrations have begun in Thailand.

Thailand is open to LGBTQ+ communities but has never passed the same-sex marriage law.

However, the winner of the recent election, the Move Forward party, has said that adopting this law is part of its main agenda.

  1. Thailand has recently elected a pro US government (largely funded by the US) so we will see more of this kind of stuff.. The US,off course, doesnt care about Thailand or any where else for that matter…the main goal is to reduce the influence of China, I just hope Thailand doesnt antagonise the Chinese too much…or they will loose a lot of tourists and trade..Ukraine should be a warning to every country in the world

  2. Take care of yourselves and each other, Thailand. In times of discrimination and hate its fantastic to see that even in such a problematic nation, the rainbow equality survives

  3. Thailand is rapidly transforming itself, the speed of which it's simply incredible. Thailand has already become the most progressive country in the whole of Asia. This might not seem much of a feat considering the rest of Asia, however the fact that the changes are so unbelievably forward thinking even worldwide, makes that gap between the rest of Asia utterly and remarkably breathtaking. There was a time I thought Hong Kong could do this, become the toast of the world on any global stage, sadly all is lost there, instead it's rapidly going backwards, regressing into a dark hole run by intransigent baboons in the grip of Beijing. There are a few hurdles for Thailand however, for one we wait with anticipation for the scrapping of Thailand's much abused Lรจse-majestรฉ laws which again incredibly were actually on the campaign manifesto of the winning party. The Move Forward Party. Tremendous stuff. The second hurdle remaining, is if the same party the MFP can keep the momentum and actually now form a government. I think a large part of the free world is definitely cheering them on here. We can only hope the rest of Asia is affected in a positive way by this very Thai Asian Spring.

  4. Lgbtqia**+ proves that sex has no unifying purpose, gender has no unifying purpose, and marriage has no unifying purpose. Humanity became like the animals in regard to marriage. Well done for destroying sex, gender, marriage and humanity lgbt! Hereโ€™s your Nobel prize.
