  1. The fields are for growing corn, tomatoes, pumpkins and cabbage.

The small dome you can only plant one type of crop. The big dome has 4 separate areas and you can plant 4 different types of crops.

If you take off build on grid you can put down the panels without any issues.

Another tip is when a weather even is ocuuring leave the base. The storms only follow the player so your base will not get damaged.

    Metor storms will destroy stuff.

  2. Today I saw someone loot seed pods with a spruce and an ""oxygen tree". I bet that is what the dome is for. And the center of the greenhouse could be for corn? Maybe wheat?

  3. The power read out seems to be bugged. In general it shows what it can supply in (generates) and its showing what first battery charge available but isnt counting the power flow that is coming into the first battery. Seems like a developer oversight for displays only.

  4. I love how he keeps lookint at the Input and Output of the batteries and the words right on the screen tell him. THE OUTPUT IS ALWAYS LIMITED TO CURRENT BATTERY CHARGE. Which means that no matter what you set the output at for the battery pack. If the battery only has a low charge, then the output will only be that low amount. You need enough Solar to get the batteries to FULL charge combined to get the most out of the power. With each solar cell only giving 40 Power.. and the Batteries having a total capacity of 2366… You need at least 60 Solar cells to give you enough power to keep both battery banks at full charge.

  5. The reason it can only output 42, or atleast tell you its outputting 42 is because thats all it has in it, its best not to put the batteries as discharging everything so you can actually see whats going on. sure it means you dont have to mess with it again, but its better for the visual side of knowing whats going on, to just output a little more than you need, so if your base needs 200, set the battery to discharge at 250. Means you can build the odd thing in the base without worrying, but when you do a remodel, you need to go back to the power settings.

  6. if you have the Canteen, build it and fill it with Storage units to stow stuff in.
more than one if you feel the need to become a Martian Hoarder
your Rover's inventory should only have what is needed for a Well & a Solar Panel for remote restock.

  7. I think power is designed by input/output. Max output would determine the maximum amount of power that can go out, not that it pushes it out at that rate 100% while they output to the batteries is determined by how much power is stored in first battery. The more the first battery store the higher output would be. Prob some kind of safety feature. Not an expert just mu opinion

  8. @3:10 could've just put a T or even a cross corridor to make it easier to get in from the entrance instead of going in and around
@10:39 the greenhouse is for incubating and for smaller plants and the dome is is mainly for trees. small plants work too but power and water consumption is higher not to mention needing dirt
@21:18 the small incubator and hydroponics are under main hub / HQ
@22:24 looks like you forgotten the campaign prologue, those 3 fields can grow both small and medium plants like corn and peppers
hydroponics trays can only grow small crops while the dome all 3 sizes
you get more harvest for fully growing the small and medium size plants in the dome but at the cost of more power and water and dirt

  9. The battery is used to store energy. The output cannot be bigger than the input because the battery will not be charged. In that way, you can connect straight the transformer to the base, with no need for a battery. You first need to store energy in it. So it is always best practice to make the output lower than the input. If your base consumes 100 kW /h to be sure to have power at least 10 hrs in the night your battery needs to be charged at least with 1000 kW so it can give the energy back during the night. What does it mean? Your Input must be always bigger than the output to leave some energy to be stored. In your case your battery gives only 42 kW because it stored only this amount of energy. If you combine battery lines together you have to be sure that the last line has enoug energy income to power the base and still has a margin to be charged. 1 Block of batteries get 200kW -> output to the next block would be i.e. 150 kw. and you save 50kW in first block – so the second block get 150 kw on input, then you give 100 kW to base, but still you save 50kW for later in the second block.

  10. The greenhouse incubator grows plants to part 1 growth, hydroponic shelf to part 2 growth, the greenhouse floor sprinkler area to part 3 growth and the dome to part 4 growth, you need a co2 scrubber in your base, it not only provides o2 to your suit but provides o2 passively within your base. Great video as always kage looking foward to the next

  11. You start plants in the greenhouse then when they get to a certain growth you move them to the dome. The output must be lower than the input for the batteries to charge and you don't need to send more than your base needs. When you get new plants like pumpkins peppers .ect you start them in the incubator then move them to the field plots or dome. they won't grow in the hydro setup.

  12. Yes you’re right. The greenhouse is a very thirsty building even with just the incubators and hydroponic shelves going, never mind the fields. I have only found potatoes and beetroot so the first two machines are fine.

  13. all your extra crops you don't need for seeds or food cna go into the composter. You need…drumroll…..silicon….for making soil, but you don't need that until you get crops that have more than two stages that go into the field, or into the domes….I can't find any of those so far myself, I went out to 9k km away from base and still haven't found any to spawn there. Wondering if it is gated behind something like placing a dome before those will spawn.

  14. is anyone having trouble with water.Ive had my water hooked up to a pump the to the main habitat. the reason for that is because of the o2 tank.iI eventually took the pump off i put it direct. and it help. just wanted to know if others are having the same problem.

  15. If only you had a look at the greenhouse tutorial, and also if you had not put the workshops against each-other you would have had an extra port to hook up power to the base no 😮

  16. That's NOT the Greenhouse my Brother, and ALWAYS use AirLocks in case of structural damage due to Meteor Showers….and for your sake Please make a few Fire Extinguishers!!!
The Small Dome is for a Single Type Crop….Large Dome handles 4……Kage…You're doing Great, just Read the Knowledge Base for information…..

  17. It says 63 power out because that’s how much they battery had stored at that point which means it can only give the second battery that amount until it stores more

  18. For the batteries, it only outputs what is available in the battery. So if you only have 42kw in the battery it will only output 42kw. when you was trying to explain how you think it works. you was close on it. you can put them in series or parallel. Thats why we all have been saying, if you want to charge the batteries and have enough energy for the night since you base is growing..

having a small base putting the batteries in series is a great way, but when the base gets larger using them in parallel is going to be the best because you will have more output power available, and longer the batteries will last through the night.

when using parallel you will have 128kw(128kw x 2 = 256kw total input) going to each battery pack for charging, and have the output from each battery @100kw(100kw x 2 = 200kw) output to the transformer for the buildings, by doing it that way you will have 28kw charging the batteries at all times. and the more solar panels that you put up the more input power going into the batteries and then the more output you can without draining the batteries.

Hope this helps you and others that are having similar issues. Took me awhile to figure that out also.

    keep up the good work.

  19. Hi there 🙂 My electricity setup is all 12 solar panels to 1 transformator. Than separately output to 4 bateries 25% to each. All 4 bateries to another transformator and than to base. It Works for mé very well 😉

  21. hmm, I didnt think of wiring the battery banks in series either, funny.. I guess my electronics background tells me that would double the voltage, but do nothing for its current capacity so I never thought of it lol. Anyway, so glad your streaming this game I have been a kick starter supporter, and have gone through its growing pains from the beginning..Its a great game and deserves high praise for its concept IMO.Also, when ever I have a dust storm or especially a meteor strom warning I high tail it out of dodge in the rover, and get 1KM plus away. 6hour warning is plenty to do that. My 1st meteor storm took out my solar farm so not into rebuilding that all the time 🙂

  22. It's Kilowatt hour so if you run your battery's connected like that you're base wil lrun out of power cos the 3rd battery will charge your second battery and the second battery will charge the first and then give power to your base so you are running out of power therefore you only get 42 kWh on the second battery

  23. Max out an ECU with upgrades. Build enough solar to fill it. Split the power between battery packs. Only have the batteries output what your hab needs. This will allow them to charge rapidly. Have each battery pack feed into a second ECU. This will allow you to distribute power to the hab and other areas as needed. Don't forget to adjust the battery output to compensate.

  24. Greenhouse

    Trays – potato, beets
    Fields – tomato, corn, lettuce
Domes – pepper, pumpkin, apple, cabbage, oxygen tree, poplar, spruce

    small dome – one crop
    med dome – two crop
    large – four crop

Domes need dirt, to get dirt, silicone into fertilizer machine

    Love ya work

  25. each solar panel collects 42 power, you are max outputing from 1 bat to the other, basically it will only have the basic amount the solar panels can give because its not storing power in the first battery to the second battery that isnt full yet either. you had it right the first time that 1 battery will charge after the other battery charges but the output wont change until the battery getting all the charge is full.
