Gabby Petito case: 'Burn after reading' letter will be allowed in court | LiveNOW from FOX

Brian Laundrie’s mother Roberta has broken her silence to Fox News Digital after her highly-anticipated “burn after reading” letter has revealed she promised her late son a shovel and garbage bags.

The Florida woman, through her attorney, claims the missive was penned before her son embarked on a June 2021 cross country trip with his 22-year-old fiancee Gabby Petito, who was found dead September 19, 2021 near Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park.

“The letter to Brian was written prior to Gabby and Brian leaving my home for their trip. Previously, I submitted an affidavit to the court for very limited purposes but that is not the whole story. Now that the letter has been shared, I ask that you read it in its entirety, and understand that the letter contains other phrases besides those highlighted by Pat Reilly for sensationalism and to bolster his case. I truly loved my son, and simply wanted to convey to him how much he meant to me and how much I loved him. I am sure people use phrases all the time to express to their loved ones the depths of their love. Although I chose words that I thought would be impactful with Brian given our relationship, the letter was in no way related to Gabby. Please read the entire letter before you believe the hype put out by Pat Reilly,” Roberta Laundrie told Fox News Digital through an attorney.

  2. She knew her rotten son murdered Gabby and said nothing. Who the hell is going to believe what she says about this letter? “burn after reading” is all we need to know.

  3. I am a mother and I have told my daughter several of the things, Mrs. Laundrie said to her son as many parents have. As I have said to my daughter and her friends, " if anyone ever got hold of part of one of our texts, it could be taken out of conrext. We would be gangsters," Unless one is there, assume simply fabricated hype, or flamboyant social media attempts for views occur alot. Just like Gabi's parents suing the Utah policestation. We would all be so lucky to have such caring officers pull us over. It is horribly sad,, the death of Gabi, in no means thinking otherwise. The FBI.and police officers did EVERYTHING THEY COULD. Alot above and beyond measures if taking into account, the number of children and other adults missing by abduction. We forget Gabi was of legal age, engaged to him, CHOSE to travel with Brian and as importantly, chose to live a year with Brian and his parents. We may not agree with the Lundries choice not to talk to the media until now, but it is their right
The FBI, In their statement said, Chris and Roberta and Brian's sister had cooperared fully. The suspect is dead. Please let both families heal. The letter now in full context release stomps that fire out. I have even heard parents tell their kid, I would walk thru h— and back for you. Thank you Fox fir making the whole letter available to the public, Mrs. Laundrie for sharing it, and hope Gab's mother retracks some of things said in hurt and frusteation. Nothing will bring either back, but now cal let rest in peace

  4. If she mentioned all these ways to show her love? Why would you tell your Son that you would take him plastic bags if he buried "a body"? Wow, no one's stupid.. This is very telling😮

  5. As someone said, "regardless if she wrote the letter b4 or after, she's confessing that she would visit him in jail and help bury the body." Which is exactly what happened when Gaby was murdered and would have happened if Brian didn't commit suicide and convicted…..Also, who tells someone "Burn after reading" if this is a letter to a loved one❓️ This is testament that Mrs. Laundrie knew the letter was inappropriate and most likely written after Brian committed murder‼️

  6. Romans 8:38‭-‬39 KJV

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us FROM the LOVE OF GOD, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  7. From my point of view
This guy confess to his family what he did and the mother wrote this letter to him. The confession is actually written
Why did she say to burn the letter after reading. Why???.

  8. Either she wrote that before Brian went away with Gabi, and it's evidence she's the creepiest mom alive,
    Or
She wrote it after Brian killed Gabi, and it's evidence she's the creepiest mom alive.

We can never forget the context of how Roberta ghosted Gabi's parents as they frantically searched for missing Gabi, when they knew Brian had returned with her van without her….

The most disgusting thing a mother ever wrote her son.
