What the Americans are trying to convince everybody doesn’t make sense at all. For sure, no country will send companies and workers to build mega projects for free and it is very reasonable to charge countries that want to build stuff by foreign companies. USA is expecting that China will go all around the world threatening countries to change their culture and start to adapt Chinese culture right? but that’s not US that is China, and Chinese people don’t enforce anyone to deal with them including US. If BRI is "economic coercion", then IMF loans are literal debt traps and colonization (which they are). BRI agreement are usually "win-win" while IMF loans ask for mass privatizations and roads paid by tax dollars for the stuff done by the loans like a new foreign business.
