“Regarding any matter, if a person does not ask Allah from His Bounty, Allah gets angry at him, because he is either in despair of the Mercy of Allah or is too arrogant to ask Him. Indeed, each of these two matters causes the anger of Allah. Some commentators said about the saying of Allah (which means): {Indeed, those who disdain My worship…} [Quran 40:60] that worship, here, means ‘supplication’, as Allah loves to be asked and that one persists in asking Him, and the one who does not ask Him, Allah hates him.”

I think the title should be “us” not “you”. When you get hardschip it does NOT mean because you deserve it. It is one of the tests we get in life. Surah al Ankaboot basically starts with it. Also Ayoub (as) is a beautiful example. Almost all prophets got hardship. Some more than others. Not because they deserved it. Don’t blame the people that get floods, hunger, war and/or illnesses and tell them they deserve it.
Us humans deserve it. We have indeed strayed farrrr away from the straight path. InshaAllah will the muslims that try to stay on the straight path be forgiven.
For example those Muslims who did not make Dua they do not make Dua because they know Allah will definitely dissapoint them so they do not do so. For example making Dua for freedom of Palestine and justice for the victims at the international court but that won't happen. So Allah may be angry but he knows their Dua won't be answered so why bother asking.
