The biggest problem with entertainment companies is when they go to publicly traded. Being beholden to shareholders kills creativity, the company goes from making their own decisions to appeasing shareholders who want nothing but year over year profit growth to the point whereâs its unsustainable. Entertainment companies shouldnât be publicly traded because of this creativity drought that results of it

I recently explained this to a friend but using casinos not Disney. When it's cheaper to settle lawsuits than fix issues companies will go with the lawsuits.

Just one question⌠growing up in a VFD family, I have great respect for first responders and for a department to be ignored when itâs literally the life line is upsetting. Especially when the âownersâ have the money to upgrade their department, though itâs their responsibility to keep departments up to date.
Question: with conditions being as bad as what it is, why didnât they go to government officials earlier to let the word get out? At least leak a video of the working conditions so people would understand the situation.? Maybe they did and were just now hearing about but, I think this could have been handled earlierâŚ
Reedy Creek was to benefit cities_, not _theme parks_. Disney has been abusing its power for decades. Everything DeSantis is doing is đŻ lawful, it's just that Disney does not want to face justice and consequences for their actions because it will completely destroy them. And I mean, who can blame them? Disney is a _huge legacy that will be forever crippled from this. No one really wants to see the thing that they have loved and that has affected their lives for so many years end up in the gutter, and Disney is playing hard into that. But then you have to ask yourself: where do I stand? Do I back one of the worst companies with a history of shady and illegal business practices because of the positive benefit it's brought to my life and family? Or do I stand with the law of what is right, even if it may not be as fashionable?
This proves one thing, Disney cares more about the shareholders than human lives. Well they never gave a damn about humanity… right Mulan?

Idiots not understanding the deal Disney had due to Walt is because no one learns why it was so special. It was supposed to be an actual city. But then the due died without explaining it to his dumb brother and the rest is history.

The way the media is going to spin this is they are going to say "DeSantis just did this to look good. He doesn't actually care about the firefighters." To which I say, even if that's true. GREAT! At least he's doing something good in the process of looking good.

Governments caring about first responders isn't always high on the list. It doesn't excuse Disney's poor treatment, but lets not pretend the government cares either.
When budgets need to be cut, what groups get cut first?
Even if Disney gets new monorails, they will continue to smell since I've heard they're stored in the same building as the horses when not in use, so it's doubtful they'll ever smell better, unless DeSantis orders them to be stored in a different place

I worked at wdw 10y ago and reedy creek was obviously not up to date/staffed enough even back then. Glad the fire dept is getting what they need now.
