Chinese fishing magnate blacklisted by US over alleged human rights abuses

Reporting from The Australian reveals a Chinese fishing magnate has been blacklisted by the US government over allegations of human rights abuses in his company, says Sky News host Sharri Markson.

According to The Australian, Zhuo Xinrong is also a donor and senior office-holder with an influential China-Australia organisation.

Ms Markson discussed the issue with academic and author Clive Hamilton.

“The big question is, why has he acted in Australia, why is he involved in this organisation,” Mr Hamilton said.

  1. ultimately politicians can over rule decisions by australias intelligence agencies. sometimes you gotta let the politics flow a little in order to get the nectar out of the honey suckle before you buzz off to the next dandelion.

  2. besides dear old winnie the pooh might make all of chinas decisions for the ball less chinese but it's an old school italian mafia system that xi runs
where his 7 compadres have their own
captains and crew that xi potentially doesn't oversee or get involved with.
so this alleged rodless ccp fisherman might simply be a made man and the captain is in spain beach side having brunch

  3. China🇨🇳 needs to play by the rules and to respect human rights.
    – If China does this, it can have a chance to co-exist with the rest of the world.

  6. When has the CCP ever cared about human rights? They care about power and control which means money, like the 'rats do. They killed who knows how many millions of people world wide, but claim Russia is a bad player? Sheeeeit…

  7. He might have indigenous ancestors so the government can't touch him. If you think carefully, the risk that a group with mixed chinese and indigenous blood and with CCP affiliations takes over a 'Voice to Parliament' is extremely high. No one knows how many folks classed as indigenous Australians have political or cultural loyalties which aren't to indigenous Australians from other tribes. If someone who appears European can be indigenous by descent (1/16th or whatever proportion applies), then so could a third generation Indian, Arab, or Chinese person.

  8. Everyone in China has links to the Chinese communist party.
Just like almost everyone in Australia is linked to the Labour or Liberal party.
That is why China is united.
You disparage China and all the rich guys will rise up to defend it.
They are all linked to the communist party.
USA think they can isolate the communist party from the modern rich Chinese…..hahaha.
    China is solid and united.
Everyone in China remembers how poor China was in 1949 and how the colonial west bullied her for 100 years.
All Chinese knows the government is not perfect but they are successful, patriotic, not corrupted and highly effective.
    Look at India in comparison.
