Emirates will fly two Boeing 747 freighters under its Emirates SkyCargo brand to meet demand in the freighter sector and accompany their already existing Boeing 777 freighters. The decision will see an immediate boost in overall capacity for the company.

I remember the 747F’s leased by emirates!! I loved watching them fly into Heathrow (when I still lived in the uk) ❤❤
Contrary to Qatar, Emirates isn't railing against Boeing, but uses this lease to show how they feel about the 777X-F (really delayed)

Quite an unexpected turn. Maybe Emirates should convert 7 older Boeing 777-300ERs into freighters in the near future. And i think i have an idea which registration will be converted soon
This is just temporary as EK SkyCargo wants to exclusively use the 777F but are currently waiting for the new order to be delivered

It’s interesting that none of this has been divulged to the wider EK community. Next to come are the 77W freighters, ironically from “the country that shall not be named”.
There was no need to cease production of the 747 or A380. All this fuel efficiency and saving the environment is just a bunch of environmentalist bs.
Shame that Emirates didn't order 20–30 747-8F before its production ends…

It had it in the previous decades from 2000 to 2016, had 747-400Fs, I saw it landing on Algiers airport 😊
When fully loaded, still the cheapest plane to fly per pound.
The 747 is one of the best to keep in service 🐕🦺
It's nice to see the 747Fs come back. Though it's only temporary, the 747, with it's shear size, helps the "higher volume" freighter operation run more smoothly. It's an airplane that's needed for this type of operation.
I wish they were brand new ones
