DOHHHH The fire's I was making 2 or 3 and all I had to do was add wood sighs some days your on and some days your a derp LMAO.
I agree – this game isn't generally my kind of game, but this is not bad, at all.
I will say that having those Stat numbers count down triggers my OCD.
HEY Kage you should look into vintage story its a survival game you might enjoy it really flew under the radar
It looked like you could only make multiple planks when you had the wood in the lower hot bar. When you first started making them it you had 15 wood in the bottom bar and it let you make 7 planks.
Ok how do you turn the map I try to hold down right mouse button nothing then left nothing I know I'm missing something.
Games with this view don't have roofs for building. From my experience it's invisible so you can see in your house

Was the percentage going up because you were adding to your inventory and not because it was going to spoil? Sorry if you mentioned it but I'm only a minute or so in.

The [Shift] lets you do the action of what you have equipped when there is a target for it near by:
Have a pick axe in hand and a stone or metal node near you, hit [Shift] and it will start mining, axe -> tree, sickle -> wheat/grass… or have an enemy near by hit shift and it will attack (with almost anything you have in your hands or even bare hands).
Just about everything organic spoils with a few exceptions, like raw bread (before baking it), some flowers and leather.
Biggest tip for any run is to get the furnace/oven recipe from a chest (look at your treasure map) ASAP, then work towards the alchemy table as that will let you heal using potions instead of using food.
Farming wheat is good as bread seems to be the easiest food to semi-passively grind for (just wheat+water).
You can keep multiple backpacks in your main inventory and switch between them for some extra mobile storage.
