hi Iβm a bit anxious to publish this video cause i forsee people being angry about promoting thrifting as lately Iβve seen a rise in anti-thrift sentiments saying that thrifting is ruining thrift store by buying up all the clothes from people who *really* need them and i think that this doesnβt take into account the absolutely ENORMOUS amount of donated clothing thrift stores receive every day, thereβs way more than enough to go around and with the rise of fast fashion i think thrifting is a better alternative; i also disagree with the sentiment that resellers and people who can afford to thrift are raising prices at the thrift stores by buying up stock but i feel this is more of an issue of general inflation than the actual fault of resellers; i watched a cool video from two dream about this and while i personally donβt resell clothes their video changed my mind on the ethics of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PwoZNW5pxc

your background is AMAZING
i've found literally everything i've bought second hand (like home decor, furniture, clothes n accessories) and it brings me so much joy! sadly all the thrift stores are full of shein these days so i no longer find clothes in person which makes finding clothes a little harder since i'm pretty small (most clothes fit weird/dont fit at all + i dont have a sewing machine so i cant really tailor them at home).
online thrifting is fun too, most of my clothes are from those! here online thrifts are super hard to navigate, we literally just have three sections – women, men, kids. you can't actually search up words which is super dumb..
i still love thrifting and i've found many cool pieces, really old stuff from dead threads, lip service and queen of darkness π just last week i found a cool long pvc jacket online but it was sold by the time i sent the message >:( been looking for one for soooo long!
even though you're a somewhat small youtuber, your videos are huge for the alt fashion community. please never stop! <3

I love love love thrifting and I am also the kind of person who will get lost in a thrift store and spend hours searching through everything! (Sounds like we would be good thrifting pals!) I have found some unbelievable things at thrift stores over the years. My favourite sections are skirts, trench coats (but also jackets in general), the candle/candle holder section, picture frames (I love ornate pewter or brass frames or wooden ones that I can sculpt over!), and the jewelry/belts/scarves. I have become somewhat of a collector of clothes! One of my best finds was a Lip Service top (pinstripe, cap sleeve, with a bunch of buckles and a real lock at the throat) for $7.99! Bless the goth angel in my small city who donated it π

That was a treat from start to finish – thank you so much. My local charity shop is pretty good, and a bit odd too. Last time I went in they had a large plush dachshund, completely covered in multi-coloured sequins. Come to think of it, it might have been a basset hound … anyway, I'm still kicking myself for not tucking it under my arm and taking it home but funds did not permit, alas. π
We have a monthly thrift market in our area and I picked up the most gorgeous black velvet little jacket thing last weekend π± but I have found they mark up the prices (my friend saw a jacket that was insanely priced and found the same thing for like half the price at a different stallβ¦) love this video so much I always love your look books π€
personally ive found a lot of clothes that match with a goth aesthetic at target, so you can find stuff anywhere if you know what youre looking for
to everyone with the gramma thrift shops: try going in and looking at everything without considering the colours. dying something can really change the vibes!

Very, very informative video and a lot of useful tips. I don't thrift often, because it tires me very quickly (especially if shops don't have sections of certain colours), but I do love going to thrift shops for my costumes for halloween or cosplay parties, then I somehow find huge motivation to search for needed parts. I hope that I will finally learn how to sew with a machine and make some beautiful things in the future, cause it was my dream for a long time. Watching your channel definitely helps with motivation to do something creative.

As someone who works in a second-hand store, I think all costumes seem to forget we have to pay the same bills as everyone else
59:25 How did you re-glue the shoe soles?
I have some shoes I need to do that with and I wasn't sure about the right glue to use? Shoe glue doesn't seem necessary, but I was worried hot glue might not hold up. Maybe super glue? Or E-6000?
