Some interesting data that shows metal fans are 50% more likely to buy vinyl records, as compared to the average U.S. consumer. PLUS, Metallica sales figure and upcoming hard rock and metal releases I’m looking forward to.

Hi Frank. I'm not surprised by this I would say in the last 4 yrs my collection grew from about 50 to around 400 records all either Hard Rock and Metal it's a fun hobby now I'm just being more selective now but the collection still grows…Great video.
Probably grabbing Extreme and Mammoth VH.
Wow crazy man I believe it
I'm a metal guy and I have a few on vinyl, but I like the real heavy stuff on CD. I bought the new Metallica on CD and I love it.
Wow, "Dead Babies" is my all time favorite Cooper song too!
Punk fans will buy any format we can get, used or new. Why? 1) Record Labels don't want to re-issue old Punk albums b/c the recording quality was typically horrible, no amount of money put into remastering can help.
2) 99% of Punk labels of the 70's & 80's are out of business & the master tapes are lost or they ripped off bands by stealing ownership of their masters & won't give them back until they get paid big money.
This is why Suicidal Tendencies re-recorded their debut album & Vancouver's Death Sentence asked fans if they had "near mint condition" copies of their two 80's albums so they can create new masters from them to press CD's.
AFTER A FEW WEEKS I FOUND 3 OF THE RECORDS I WAS LOOKING FOR THAT WAS RELEASE FOR THIS 2O23 R.S.D. THE ALBUM "RAPHAEL SAADIQ ~ THE WAY I SEE IT" SO NOW I CAN GIFT TWO OF THEM TO BOTH MY FRIENDS AND HOLD ON TO ONE SO IF I WANT TO GIFT IT TO SOMEONE ELSE THAT IS STARTING A RECORD COLLECTION GOT THEM FOR A GREAT PRICE AT $25 DOLLAR$ EACH PLUS SHIPPING WHILE I SEEN SOME PEOPLE TRYING TO START SELLING THEM AT $65 BUCK$ JUST GOTTA LOOK LOOK LOOK AND BE PATIENCE GREAT VIDEO THANKS FRANK ✌🏼OUT
During the fall of Vinyl in the 90's and early 00's Punk bands were still releasing Records. I had a Distro in the early 00's that sold records and propaganda at anarcho/crust punk shows and it did quite well. I'm not sure about how things are since then
Hi Frank I'm grabbing Gloryhammwer Return to the kingdom of fife, Motorhead Iron horse/ Born to l
ose 7" Motorhead Kiss of death. Motorizer, L.A.Guns Black Diamonds, Sweet & Lynch (Michael Sweet Stryper) George Lynch Dokken, Lynch Mob Heart And Sacrifice, Revolution Saints Eagle Fight and that's just in the next 3 months
Hi, F.L. I don't see this as any surprise. Metalheads are waaay more passionate and LOYAL to the bands in their roster than most other genres' fans (at least in my opinion). Metal releases on vinyl, at least as far as I've seen, really go "over the top" in a lot of cases (the funny thing is that my brother is the vinyl collector, yet I'm the subscribed commenter! lol) I mean the Xtras you get with some a the metal releases is bitchin' cool and some a the vinyl is so trippy. Only thing I saw that kinda turned me off was the price of some of them. Mind you, I understand these are for the "diehards", but the latest Pantera "Reinventing the Steel" vinyl release was like 80 or $85 dollars! But, if it's what make your world spin, you aren't gonna care! I collect First press U.S. KISS albums with all inserts and I only have a few to go, but those are getting sickeningly pricey too! I think the art on METAL albums was meant to be on vinyl size cause it's just so WIK!! m/
Why would anyone laugh. The Kronos Quartet are just as valid as anyone else.
I bought the new Metallica vinyl on the first day of release
RSD may have gone well, but I was amazed how easily it was locally and online to obtain what I wanted. My local shop still has the four copies of Never Say Die as well as some other RSD releases. I reckon in some areas, the Cost of Living and being unemployed has played its part. I only have two metal albums on vinyl purchased in recent years. I don't care for Metallica of today or any modern metal groups and prefer my metal that is nostalgic and Meshuggah. My main vinyl purchased recently are either Progressive Groups, Jazz or Avante Garde.
I’m into metal and I guess I’m in a minority because I only buy CDs. I never got into vinyl. They’re expensive, you need a big and good sound system to play them, and I didn’t want to have to re-buy all the music I have on CDs on vinyl.
I'm picking up Cooper and Sabbath but also the new Motorhead live release 'Live At Montreux Jazz Festival '07'
I guess it's always been the case hasn't it? Look at the best selling vinyl records of all time, they are (in the most part) from what we now call classic rock bands. Of course MJ Thriller etc are in there, but predominantly rock of sorts.
Maybe rock fans like an album as a whole where others were always happy with the odd 45 or song streaming not full record?
As an aside, the "vinyl outselling CD" thing is based on sales income not item sale quantity. As vinyl is about twice the price of a CD it skews the stats. CDs sell more but vinyl makes more. Of course you know that better than me, so I'll shut up 🤣🤣🤣
Sound quality is 💯 the most important thing for me when buying records. Picture disks and bootlegs are a huge no for me
Frank, my current pre-orders are The Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense reissue on vinyl and The Offspring’s Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace [15th Anniversary Edition] [LP + 7" Single]. As always, love your channel!
Physical media is just a part of metal culture. Same with hardcore, punk, or extreme music in general. I think 80% of my collection is metal. We love our merch as well…You do also have to account for the fact our shows are usually very small and we actually care about supporting our bands, so buying records directly from them is very common. I've seen every record shop that has opened near me inevitably expand their metal section faster than the others simply because it sells way more often.
I think the easiest way to think about it….Metal, as on overall genre, has ALWAYS had more of a recent day "Taylor Swift" type following. We know that when anything Taylor Swift comes out it will be a mob rush. Unlike many other genres metal has ALWAYS had that effects on it fan even with older albums. Like Rob Zombie said metal fans are very dedicated and loyal. He said you almost never hear a metal fan say something like "Yeah, I was really into Slayer that one summer, but don't really like them anymore". LOL
I like heavy metal, but most of my purchases are ABB and blues albums as far as newer vinyl releases go. When it comes to used stuff, it's too eclectic to fit into a genre. I think for what was listed on the video, the new Extreme is the one I'm looking the most forward to.
I think hard rock and metal fans generally love to find the deep cuts and metal/hard rock artwork is the best around, hence why we be albums & cds. Case in point, you mentioned Dead Babies being your favorite A.C. song.
Although not metal, really just hard rock. The new Winger album is out. Its called Seven. It rocks pretty damn good ,with only one slow song. I give it a 7 outta 10 stars. Thats with only one listen. So you missed that one Mr.Landry. 🤘😎🤘
Buying that Blood Ceremony, Enforced, and Frozen Soul. Heavy metal is the law in my household!
Looking forward to the new Metal Church on May 26th.
Its hard to be a metal album collector at times. It can be hard to find cool original presses because the folks who own them wont let them go. I cant say I blame them
Did you know that the hand signs displayed on your thumb nail for this video represent satanic ritual and satanic worship? Just saying…
Metal records are too damned expensive.
Makes sense to me. Metal heads are an obsessive lot. I count myself among them. My collection is probably 50% metal, the other 50% being a mixed bag, depending on what sort of mood I was in when I purchased it
new winger ?
I always INTEND to buy more records.
That doesn’t always work out though.
I don’t know if anything this month that I want to get, but your description of Blood Ceremony has piqued my interest. I’m going to check that out.
