Rambunctious, foul-mouthed, and hard-partying, Sam Kinison epitomized the excess of the late ’80s rock scene. The performer rubbed elbows with some of the hardest partying rock legends of the time — and was a comedy sensation who seemed destined for greatness.
But a stranger’s mistake would bring it all down. On the night of April 10, 1992, Kinison and his wife of only one week were headed to Nevada for a gig when they were struck head-on by a pickup truck. How did it all come crashing down? We’re breaking down the tragic death of Sam Kinison.

  2. a stranger's mistake?? bullshit. they were two teenagers, drunk off their asses. even when they realized who they hit, they laughed about. NO CHARGES WERE EVER BROUGHT ON THE TEENS.

  6. While not all of his material has aged that well (e.g. jokes about aids, homosexuality, starvation in underdeveloped countries), he still remains one of the funniest comedians I've listened to. His bit about comparing anal sex to the beginning of the Bible is priceless.

  7. When I was younger, he was always my favorite comic and was happy to hear when he's sobered up & he was doing well. It's a shame it had to come to an end through such a tragic means.

  12. My ex girlfriend used to make cassette recordings of him Rodney and Andrew dice clay 4 me when they 1st came out back.in the day God i miss them.so much!   18. I was never a Sam kinison fan but it breaks my heart to find out that this was his final moments spent on the side of a road because of another's irresponsibility may he rest in paradise

    I never want this to happen to anyone. It's truly heartbreaking 😢

  21. I saw Kinison at Ball State University Muncie Indiana and i think it was 1990, it's been a long time ago so the memory is vague. He gave the perfunctory stay off drugs speech as he had to do it for legal reasons. As I remember he was beachball fat looking. He died tragically not to long after that.

  26. That huge, full-frame close-up of Sammy's face at the very beginning of this video sure shows he was drugged up, big time. The two-tone coloration on his lips — was he wearing lipstick? And those eyes! Oh, man! He looks AWFUL!
