In the summer of 1927, Vermont was ravaged by floods that swept away not only buildings but also strange, otherworldly bodies. When tales of these bizarre occurrences reach the curious mind of Professor Albert N. Wilmarth, he begins a correspondence with Henry Wentworth Akeley, a researcher from Vermont who claims that the flood washed up the bodies of extraterrestrial beings mining an unknown metal. Initially skeptical, Wilmarth becomes increasingly convinced of the truth of Akeley’s claims as he receives more materials. The result is Howard Phillips Lovecraft’s haunting tale “The Whisperer in Darkness”, which draws on the author’s own experiences in Vermont and is now considered a classic of horror literature.

Why is your subscription important to us?
We create and publish our recordings for free. Youtube shares a portion of the advertising and subscription revenue with creators. However, to become a member of the "Youtube Partner Program", we must have 1000 subscribers. By subscribing to our channel, you help us achieve this goal. It will allow us to cover at least some of the expenses for equipment and software, and create more audiobooks of better quality in the future.
Drove me nuts how the reader had four different ways to pronounce Akeley, lol, but other than that good job.
