It's fine that work from home works for some people, but it never worked for me. Trying to teach college courses online was really really unhealthy for me. It made it even more difficult to separate my work life from my home life, it made it difficult to relate to or mentor students or build the important friendships I needed with coworkers to feel I could turn to them when I had a problem, it contributed to unhealthy feelings of loneliness, and I just find online interactions really difficult for me to feel comfortable with. I can read body language and run an in-person meeting far better than an online meeting where all I can see is someone's face (I think I have difficulty reading facial cues). It's fine that working from home works for some people, but it really bothers me when people insist that work from home is always better or that there is something wrong or malicious about wanting people back in the office. If you have a diverse workforce, you are going to have people with certain needs and dispositions where working from home won't work for them, and insisting that people be in the office is a form of accommodation for people with those needs. And yes, that accommodation stands in tension with those who need the flexibility to work from home. Hopefully there is self-sorting where some companies have work from home policies (so I know I probably shouldn't work for them) and others insist on being in the office. (I've left teaching and my mental health is much better now that I work with lots of people around me. Many of my coworkers are old enough to retire, but continue working because they enjoy the social interactions that come with working with others and would feel lonely if they retired.)

I don’t think Jedi survivor is the game to use as a work from home champion. The game is horrendously optimized
Why did you not say anything about the horrible optimisation of Jedi Survivor? It doesn't even hit 60 FPS on performance on my PS5, and on PC it's even worse, from what I hear. Was that benefits of WFH?

As a person who gets distracted easily, especially at home, I’d have to disagree with the work from home model, not saying it’s a bad idea but for my personal work health I just can’t do it from my office at home.

Your home office argument is slightly (read: completely) undercut by the fact this game is an unplayable piece of shit on PC.
I usually find you balance your opinions in your videos, but you seem to vilianise working from the office. Some business do need to do this, and personally I requested to keep my office contract rather than a WFH one. WFH doesnt suit everyone and all businesses.
As someone with insane anxiety..I would 100% prefer an at home job and would be more productive. The dream.

A removable disc drive, just buy that and I can play demon souls on pc.
I still don't understand how a movie can be filmed and CGI done in about a year or less. Yet "AAA" games take 3.5 years?!
I think it’s impossible to make blanket statements like “WFH good, office bad” and apply that metric to people pushing one or the other. It entirely depends on the company, the work and the people you work with.
I personally love the flexibility and ability to wfh if I need to, but I also really appreciate being in office with my coworkers and boss. I get way more done in that environment where I’m part of a visible team. But I’m also coming from a fortunate place of very fun and friendly coworkers that I consider friends, and a smaller company, so I’m certain I would feel differently if my situation was different.

I respectfully disagree that working from home is "as good." It works for some people, and it is quite disastrous for others. You cannot build a team camaraderie, in my opinion, without dialogue face-to-face. I fire people at work who do poorly in results AND work from home. If the individual worked at the office diligently and had poor results, the individual gets more chances- I can see he/she is trying, at least. I have no way of verifying who is working at home.
2:05 I like working at an office but….. to be honest office parks are waste of space, building material and resources the could be used for affordable homes and not mention spending the fuel to just be at a place you hate to make some rich asshole comfortable that they control what you do on the clock
Yeah no more losing paid holidays to endometriosis every month. I’m also ok with doing overtime now, bc otherwise I’d be commuting that time anyway🤷🏻♀️
My employers also did great effort to not let those who are more productive in person get the short end of the stick, they have many events for them to get to know each other etc and one weekly voluntary common office day for each team. Works like a charm. And the office building was filled with tenant organisations and amenities to use any empty space 🤷🏻♀️ it can be done right.
Another advantage of working from home is having access to your own kitchen and bathroom.
I respect your opinion on office work but as a janitor who needs office buildings to make ends meet I disagree with you "oh just find another job" this is what I'm good at and freelance house keeping is far more scrutinizing but office house keeping your unionized if you're treated poorly an investigation can be prefomed anywhere else if you get accused of stealing their word against yours
