Dear Human Hierarchy, 1. Given that the only possible alternative to a climate change is a climate control; 2. that a home and one's transportation are the two environments fit with actionable controllables for temperature and illumination, and 3. Stewardship of the key to the office thermostat is the level of self governance that collapses in democracy, anonimity, neglect and micromanagement, all, my question is this: Would you volunteer for an uncertain climate with no keys and a blanket, or with locked doors and an hour a day in a courtyard, or cling to to your Children on a piece of driftwood fixing racism and globalism and human trafficking and all that? Because until Thermos, Titanic, and Tsunami are or are not not concurrent predicates growing fur or scales and bleeding glycol, as text a noun is mostly harmless.
Climate Controllers of a Hierarchical mixed-meta-phutureness and, this is my sumbission for the record:
''I will rather a climate that changes than one that doesn't.''
Thx.
This guy it's just ridiculous…..for me its hard to watch
Listen feldman i have a god complex so they say but he has shown u all that is need be hahahahahahahaahahahahahahaa
god speaks the truth and no1 wants to hear it
I never get much from Jordan Peterson's talks. He kinda just repeats platitudes in a way that is unclear enough to require him to clarify with another slightly related platitude. It never goes anywhere. Then when pressed on a more technical definition he starts dumping lots of incoherent jargon and spiritual sounding language to distract you from the fact that he's not making himself any clearer.
Lex and Dr.Jordan really connect well on an intellectual level. This is a good watch!
WOW!!! The question made ate 52m into the video was PERFECT!!! Man… blow away right now!!!
It's sad to see Jordan take the Cain and Abel story, tell it, say that Cain was whining and not doing the right thing with self sacrifice and how God wanted him to look inside himself, and then goes on to speak of himself as a martyr against the "radical left" like bro…no one would be against you, if you would just call people what they identify as….I didn't used to understand the gender politics shit, but I've talked to trans men and women and they don't even entirely hate Jordan petersons psychology work, but they do hate him for being a bigot and doubling down. No shit the left is coming for him, the left is statistically more educated. People who go on to college usually end up as left leaning, so if educated people are coming for him, it makes sense he would have problems with the school board. It's crazy to see someone so smart, act so stupid…fuckin Kermit the frog sounding like mfer.
Does anyone know what timestamp is where he starts to physically cry about the left taking his career from him?
Aw jeez….Jordan is………well hes on a spiritual journey, and i hope he finds peace in his ideology. Theres a lot of hypocrisy in his ideas and he seems unwilling to hear anyone else out because it sounds like he thinks hes smarter…like hes out here saying that Treudeux isnt qualified for the job due to lack of expierence, but then he goes on to speak about biology and the climate xD
Must be an enlightening experience: Being the one person JP talks to in a big audience.
… made myself a big steak while watching this.
Lex did a good job not falling asleep
The combination of Lex and Jordan is just fantastic. It's such a stimulating intellectual discussion, yet totally relaxing to listen to while working on my financial model at work.
What a great podcast, thanks to both of you. Time well spent.
Completly personal perspective: I'm 45 at the momonet and I was a meat eater all my life. I had undiagnosed child asthma, I couldn't run, hiking was not possible. By 26 I was picking up allergies, first hayfever, then moving on to more and more allergens. At 26 I moved from Poland to the UK and I continued my normal diet as usual. By 36 I was heavily allergic to almost everything: cats, dogs, horses, funguses, moulds, old books, mites, flour, deodorants, grasses, trees. By 37 I was overweight, with back problems and very unhappy with my own body. On meds, steroids, inhalers, eye drops, creams…
BY complete accident I tried vegetarian diet in 2018… and withn 2 weeks the world was a shocking experience- I saw colors, heard sounds, textures became textures again. I didn't know I was living in mind fog! I had energy, better mood…. Within 3 months my asthma reduced, after 6 months I stopped taking any medictions. Withing a year, without any excersises (single mum with a full time job and 2 kids) I lost 25 kg. I had to change my wardrobe. By the end of 2020 I dropped from UK size 20 to 8-10. I introduced intermitent fasting too
I BECAME A NEW PERSON. My hair became thick and shiny, my skin smooth, I don't look like 45, people give me 35 when guessing. I had energy to go back to Uni, have a completly new career as a teacher.
For some, meat does miracles. For me it was a poison that was slowly killing me, so slowly I couldn't see it until I was put off meat. Now, any meat- cooked or raw stinks to me to the point I gag. Involuntarily. I can't even walk past a butchers shop.
We still don't know everything about our own biology….
did he cry at all during this interview?😁😁😁
2:27:16
You could be far more than you are! probably the words that hurt the most and yet it is something to aspire to.
Have a feeling he reads into things too much.
36:00 Yeah, I felt he was off, now i'm sure of it.
Musk is crazy? Just build a colony in the Antarctic?
He's clearly not a cosmologist, nor an archaeologist, never heard of the Pale Blue Dot or Carl Sagan and didn't listen to Musk.
Love you guys
Lex, "Is beauty painful to you?" Reminds me of Beethoven's moonlight sonata.. Stunningly beautiful but yet utterly heartbreaking.
Satan talks with nice words. He's evil, don't give him the platform. Self absorption is sinful.
This discussion sumed it up very well.
War is broken
Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man, of wealth and taste..
I've been around for a long, long year, stole many man's soul and faith
Pleased to meet you, hope you guessed my name 😈
JP is rambling, incoherent and actually hilarious in this. What a clown. I think Lex is being respectful but calls him out softly throughout this entire podcast.
Good video Lex.
Jordan Peterson is very intelligent, in an deferent way compared to Eric Weinstein or a Sean Carroll.
Jordan opens my mind to its innate ignorance. Very interesting listening to him.
Now in my late 40's, I think about death everyday – how long will I live, things I should do, things I need to do, what will happen to my family, etc.
"Some of my best friends dont know I exist. And a lot of my best friends are dead." Lex
I love you lex. Not in a creepy way, but in the way that you give me such hope. I relate to you so very much. Thank you for all you do.
I can only take Peterson in small doses. He's leveraged a degree in psychology into a business of knowing everything about everything, and he often gets some important details wrong. As a result entire arguments he puts forth collapse. For example, in speaking about burning away the "chaff" he says that we go to hell as Jesus did after death. Actually the word used in the Bible is hades, which traditionally means a place of rest after death before one either goes to hell or heaven. So, in this case, he's got this enormous "point" he's making that isn't supported by the Bible.
"In the Hebrew Scriptures, the word used to describe the realm of the dead is sheol. It simply means “the place of the dead” or “the place of departed souls/spirits.” The New Testament Greek equivalent of sheol is hades, which also refers to “the place of the dead.” Other passages in the New Testament indicate that sheol/hades is a temporary place, where souls are kept as they await the final resurrection and judgment. Revelation 20:11–15 gives a clear distinction between hades and the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the permanent and final place of judgment for the lost. Hades, then, is a temporary place. Many people refer to both hades and the lake of fire as “hell,” and this causes confusion. Jesus did not go to a place of torment after His death, but He did go to hades."
