British Airways CityFlyer Business class – (Southampton – Edinburgh)

Our First Business Class Flight On The Channel. British Airways CityFlyer is British airways regional subsidiary that operates mainly domestic and European routes from some of the UK’s other airports with British Airways main Base being at Heathrow airport. BA Cityflyer does though offer a business class on their Embraer E190 Aircraft, so today we are going to see how BA City flyer stacks up, how is their business class & is it worth the extra cost?

BA City Flyer operate a fleet of 20 Embraer E190SR’s with a 2 -2 seating configuration and they are some of the best econemy seats in the sky in my opinion. Today we are flying from Southampton Airport up to Edinburgh International Airport. Southampton airport is one of BA City Flyers hubs offering flight to the rest of the UK and Europe. BA CIty Flyer has Three bases, this one at southampton airpor, one at London City airport & another base at Edinburgh International Airport.

Flight Cost:
Economy Fare: £240 (I know you can get cheaper but I booked at short notice)
Upgrade Bid: £50

  1. Oh you've spiked my interest with Southampton airport and the wee hops across to the Channel Islands! The BA domestic business offering looked pretty decent, but then that eye-watering price made me realise I'll never get a chance to try the lovely food 😀

  2. Pity about the lounge being closed. Did they offer you a food voucher for the inconvenience? I think that's standard practice for many airlines. Enjoyed the video as usual and the meal looked lovely. Have a great week!

  3. I would have been so hacked off with the lounge being shut, but at least the food offering on Cityflyer is a good product and imo better than regular BA club Europe.

  4. Thanks for the great video. Business class didn't seem worth it to me, just for a bit of extra food, which isn't really necessary on a short-haul flight. I'd definitely save money and go pauper class 😅
How much extra was it though? I would guess around £10 for those extra benefits.

  5. Disappointing that the lounge wasn't open. Its a disgrace that BA didn't give you a partial refund you weren't given the enhanced service that you paid for.

  6. I’ve never been too keen on BA, actually found EastJet to be better on so many levels. To be fair it did look good.. looks like you going to have more choices to get to Aberdeen; Ember electric coaches have planning permission in both Inverness & Aberdeen for large charging stations which means they heading North very soon. And Flixbus have increased the number of services from Glasgow to Aberdeen and introduced new services from Edinburgh to Aberdeen. Hopefully next they head to Inverness.
