Dead Island 2 is an utterly ludicrous game about wading through the zombie apocalypse with a baseball bat and whatever you can successfully scavenge from the blood-stained mansions of Los Angeles…

Hopefully we get a full series on this one.
did you ever add skills?
I feel like THIS game couldn't have came out 8 years ago…that streamer house, Goat Pen, and all the environmental storytelling and eventual side quest that happens there, that to me makes up a huge part of the atmosphere of the game, its supposed to be influencer era zombie survival, and that is unique to this new version of the game
I’m honestly quite disappointed by this, it feels like the exact opposite of the original in every way. It’s way too over the top and flamboyant
Nice talk
Developer on the game here (and MATN fan). Glad to see you having fun with it!
Please make this a full series
I kind of miss the analog combat. It was slower paced and more dodge focused than anyone who ever played the game realised.
I swear to god the first zombie game that DOESN'T script a bite into the protag 5 minutes in would amaze me.
I mean avoiding getting bitten is like 'that one thing' in zombie apocalypse media, so why would we leave that useful element of human fear up to gameplay? CUTSCENE THAT SHIT MF
Who tf let a film school grad into the game dev building?
I think I'm not alone in asking:
12 years for this?
Duke Nukem forever called, they had something to say but I couldn't be arsed waiting for them to say it.
No man is an island.
But these Zombies sure do form a Sea around me.
Do you think my pre-order from Gamestop is still good?
Thank f*ck this game isn't full of terrible, so-called "Australian" accents, like the first one.
Also thank f*ck this video isn't full of Jon complaining about his female character being called 'mate' even though it not a gendered term in Australia.
I’d go for a quick series with this game. Seems like a fun time for Jon and us
I love the setting but not a fan of zombie games.
How is it that L.A during a Zombie apocalypse looks better than how L.A looks nowadays
29:08 or one of the artificial islands offa Florida/Miami.
Dead island riptide was such a buggy mess but man best 3 euros I ever paid, Multi-player was so much fun.
Jon from last week would have activated his Boing Gear and Ludicrous Boing before jumping over the electricity
Gives me dying light vibes aka bored after 10 min
Jon, like you I hate horror games, but watching you play this was fun
Jon: sees some rando digging through the garbage and axes them in the back.
Jon’s character: “no I haven’t seen anybody else out here not at all.”
I gotta say, I never really got into the first dead island because it didn’t have enough base building for my tastes and the characters weren’t interesting in the least. This game has already impressed me with the writing and voice acting in the first ten minutes. Like it might actually have a story interesting enough to be worth bludgeoning zombies for the 14th million time.
Brains…
Hammer time!
The Duke Nuke ‘Em Forever of zombie games
Man that plane looks like a flight I took to Montreal on West Jet. With better snacks. I wondered why it was only $139. Thank God I didn't take the $119 "self fly" option….
I have such fond memories of Dead Island. Me and a friend played through the entire game together, and loved every minute of it.
