Why You Are WRONG About FUSIONS!! | Raid: Shadow Legends

In today’s video I want to look back on the community perception of every fusion since I started playing the game to see if it matches up with how good these champions actually are in Raid: Shadow Legends…

  1. The community definitely rates fusions based on which champs are meta NOW. I know some comments said Razelvarg is good, but I have been doing the events and I would say from the event points, the participation is very light. I would say the lightest I have seen in awhile. Maybe since Morrigaine.

I cannot do every fusion though I have not skipped for awhile, as it is a "free" legendary,

  2. I'd really like to see some Nari content, his kit is weird enough to be useful in places … I just don't know what those places are πŸ˜€Also … Oella is not a 9. 9 would be one of the top … like 50 champs in the game, generally useful in lots of places … and I don't see that in her.

  3. Only a couple minutes in so maybe you touch on this but i feel like if a late game player doesnt NEED the fusion, they get really down on them. And at that point most of their roles are filled and they need little.

  4. I have only heard good things about Razlevarg from CCs, so not sure where the "they suck" comes from and when you talk about the community, are you basing that on the bias given by the CCs? I appreciate the review, good to see in general, but just curious about the difference between CCs/Community. Thanks

  5. I went for Oella. Got to the end, was going to get her and the power went out for days and I couldn't get her. T_T I am STILL upset about it. But yeah .. I will always go for fusions, honestly. There's always going to be some use and some big-brained strategy or whatever later down the line. People didn't think much of Morag but now look at the reception.

  6. Thanks for the video. My own thoughts below.

I went into S. Elhain knowing she was very meh. If saying she sucked I think it was in comparison to the other Supremes, so very much a relative "they suck". And as far as I know, she hasn't featured as a great PvE champion. So overall, I think people rated her fairly.

I did the Oella fusion, but haven't played with the champion or even completely built her out yet, so I can't comment on her. Maybe underrated.

I agree Pythion, Gnishak, Helicath, Tomb Dreng were fairly rated. I couldn't get Helicath, but have seen how he can transform Clan Boss teams. Dreng was a game changer for me, as my first AoE burner, and just a good DPS option considering my Elhain starter was still my best nuker at that point. I don't think Gnishak was considered God tier, but like Tomb Dreng, he can really come in and get you through content that you were struggling with, due to his unique Bomb kit.

Ukko I think was overrated. The community and content creators were really high on him. He's definitely good, but I think the expectations for him were higher than his actual impact.

I think Morrigaine and Maranix were fairly rated. I'd caveat though with the fact I think when people proclaimed they sucked, they were thinking about end game content and what those 2 champions might bring to end game content. And I think the answer to that is not much. At least not much more than another middle-tier champion could bring. As to how well they can act as support and nuker, probably got the rating about right at 7 and 6.

As for Lonatharil, he probably does suck. I don't see him in content outside Scarab. He's one of the least worrisome champs to face in Arena. And he was helluva difficult to acquire.

  7. So some correction:
Supreme Elhain: she sucks, not because she is bad tho, she is good, but she is the same as Astralon, but void, even worse, because zero ultility. If you have a 6* nuker, that is decent, like hits better then the starters, 6*ing her, is kind of a luxury, or you know, faction war champ.
Vlad: he is decent now, because he was buffed. Back when you needed to fuse him, he was again same as Supreme elhain, if you had a nuker, no use for him.
Mother Cybele: only good because of hydra and additional champs added to the game.
Hurndig: was considered really really good, but just a nuker, same old song, turned out he gives much more ultility.
Astralon: considered one of the most broken fusions, maybe next after Tormin, Brogni and Rotos, you have to remember, at that point, MM was one of the best epic, and was a great arena cc champ, with 60% or so stun chance, while Astralon had 100% with good dmg.
And the last ones had the same problem: Sigmund and Lonatharil: they were mixed fusions, they are the only 2 next to Brogni that had this type of fusion, which are insanely hard, because you had to do every event, to get the fragments for the epics, no additional fragments, then 50 the 4 epics, and fuse the lego. They were considered bad, because of the suffering you had to go through also the reason why Sigmund is underrated, because you had to do the same thing with Brogni, and everyone comapred Sigmund to Brogni, the number 1 lego at the time, and he was not even close to the powerlvl of Brogni.
Yoshi: was considered decent, because of speed meta, and he can be fit into a go 2nd team, but gold couldnt really afford a go second team, so it was basicly plat, that used him, and they are usually silent about fusions, cause they can easly do it.
Iron Brago: was crazy good as well, back then NM and especially UNM cb were hard. and he made into tons of teams, making 3 key teams into 2 key, or generally achive the stat requierments. defenatly a 9/10
Rating them now is a bit hard, instead of back when they were released, because cosider this, if that's your first fusion, even some of the bad ones are god tier, and some god tier and bad, but if you rate them from a prespective of someone who was active from Iron Bargo for example, Supreme Elhain is like 1 or 0, because she had zero usecase for late game accounts but its a bit more complicated, cause mixed fusions for example, like Brogni are a 1 or 0 if that was your first fusions, because you needed like an 9 months account at minimum to complete it if you saved most of your things. (9 months f2p accounts could do like 2 key nm maybe 4 key unm, getting Arbi at the 6 months mark, was crazy good at that point). So rating fusions in my opinion should be how a half/1 year account at the start of the fusion can use the champ at the time it was released

  8. As an owner of Roric, I can confirm that he is a rubbish legendary. The best thing I can say about him is that he's better than a rare. Well most rares.

Also, I do kinda regret not going for Ukko though, in all fairness, I don't think I would have been able to get him even if I had tried. Gnishaak, Pythion and Supreme Elhain are so far the only fusions i've been able to complete in the past few months. Probably not going for the rabbit this time around.. Hopefully the next one fusion will be better than him!

  9. The end game whale players are always the LOUDEST in the community and if you have a different opinion than the end game whales you just get shouted down as they just flex their whale account as the reason to trump a different opinion. Not all fusion champs are going to be valued the same from account to account.

  10. Bivald an 8 for being useful in 1 spot and Dreng having the same score being able to be used in the same spot sand devil and ice golem 10. Ridiculous sir!

  11. I remember the Bivald fusion didn't get the hype he deserved mainly because his fusion was before the Hydra change was announced to allow provoke to stop the cleanse, so a lot of the negativity came from not seeing where he fit outside of just wave control. If Plarium had announced the Hydra change before that fusion he'd have been hugely hyped up.

Some of the older fusions we seem to forget too were part of a game that has changed massively compared to their release. Champs like Astrolon at the time were far better than they are now in the age of Stoneskin meta for arena.

  12. I don’t do fusions. At all… period. Not since underpriest Brogni. They are not fun. It feels like a job. You have to save and save and save or spend lots of money and then stress about getting things done before deadlines. It’s all so stressful, this is a game! It’s supposed to be fun! I hate the fusions, and I never do them. And I enjoy the game much more now.

  13. For me, the difficulty in booking legendary champions ties into the community's opinion. Decent legendaries… are they worth spending your precious few lego books to skill them up? How good are they without books? Iron Brago's passive (no books) AND having a 100% uptime on his defense up (after books) helped earn "god-tier" community rep. Astralon's nuke (no books)-stun(books)-clean up(no books) + conditional revive (no books) was worth the books.

    Reply
  14. I go for them all. They are all pretty easy to complete even when starting with no resources; as I always do.
Books are where Im pulling my hair out. I have 50 unbooked legos and no books. That means I won't be able to play some of my champs, at the right level, for another three years. 50 legos x 12 books = a long long wait.

  15. I think Razel was poorly set up by plarium that lead the community in a direction, labeling him an attacker. His damage is nothing to write home about. To me he's an attacker like Seer is a support. The community seems to react like they'd throw Seer into replace their favorite support because she's labeled support, and then complain she's awful because the teams don't work. I think you did the best job of trying to find what Razel was actually good at and the places he'd fit.

  16. My biggest deal with Lonitharil is you couldn’t keep any of the epics I wanted. Anchorite got me to UNM so no regrets there as I only recently pulled another and I still don’t have a Godseeker. This was probably an influence for me during the Morgaine fusion were I kept Orn but now I’ve pulled three or four of him. Pretty sure from when I looked up Mordecai vids that Brogni was very underrated. CC were basically saying he was just a shield champion and it might be better to keep some of the epics. I’m not sure when that view may have changed.

  17. the problem you are having with roric is you are classifying him as a nuker, his a3 is a bait. turn off his a3 give him alot of speed and he turns into an amazing cc entire enemy team and tm drop with stuns. great for bosses as well cause if he does not stun on his a1 well that is more tm to get back to tm drop and more stuns for minions. also good in the arena cause cant be stunned and if they have udk he has a 50% chance of stunning someone and udk becuase of how the passive works he hits each person once. I would say for me in the game roric is the most criminally underated champ because everyone looks at him to do damage and ignores how good he is for cc and tm drop. spider i use him, fire knight tm drop and multi hit perfect. doom tower hard keeping the enemy team controlled so many good uses

  18. Agree with Oella. Never understood why she was so underrated but her key is brilliant for support. The other big thing for me that increases her rating is that she's part of a new faction. Regardless if you have Lydia, the new faction will likely bring some tasty rewards so any pickup for the faction is great.
Tomb dreng I've always enjoyed but more and more he's becoming so useful. No acc required, hp based can put out loads of dmg and has a huge heal.

  20. This video entirely missed the mark. Nubs content is overrated. Going for (nearly) every fusion will harm account progression for a large number of players and is advice that should be taken with caution, unless someone is a collector and cares more about obtaining every champ than advancing their account.

You can't rate fusions in a vacuum, pretend that we all have the gear for 382 different champs, or that we'd use them all even if we did. A fusion's worth is almost entirely relative to the account. Additionally, Nubs get cc "perks" to help build champs that the average player doesn't, so one's status as cc/f2p/spender must be taken into account. I can guarantee that while Nubs says all these champs are underrated a good chunk are sitting in the vault unused. Why? Because there simply isn't enough content to need that many different champs and just because you can make a functional team with a champ doesn't make them good. They have to actually exceed the performance of existing options in order to be worth it.

Personally I have a strong endgame account (stronger than Nubs) but even during progression I barely touched 75% of the fusions I wasted resources on despite all the cc hype that "this is a must do fusion!" However, another player may get tons of use out of their fusions, which is why each player needs to learn to evaluate the potential value of a fusion relative to their own account. My account skyrocketed when I started skipping fusions that I knew I wouldn't use. That is an absolute fact. More intentional dungeon farming to get the gear sets I needed, more silver to upgrade artifacts from farming spider daily, and more ascended gear from farming sand devil. All far, FAR more beneficial to my account than some random leggo sitting in my vault that could be used on some team that would be slightly worse than the team I already use.

  21. This was really a fantastic video that I don't recall being done before in the Raid community. I generally think that if you can afford to go for a fusion, you should. Legos are hard enough to get as is from shards. I can also say, I've never has a CC, or the community, dissuade me from going after a fusion because of my philosophy above.

  22. I think that if you can reasonably do a fusion, you should do the fusion. It's worth taking the risk. Naturally I skipped Oella because I was traveling during it and regret it a bit.

  23. I think there is a significant portion of the community who have not advanced their accounts far enough, or lack the discipline between fusions to save resources, to where they can complete fusions at least 90-100% without spending money. If those people feel like they might have to spend money to get the fusion, they automatically and vocally dismiss the champion as not worth it in order to not feel bad about missing out. Whereas for me, fusions are fun multi week events that I might spend $5-10 on if I absolutely have to and at the end I have a guaranteed legendary who may or may not progress my account a little bit.

  24. I only went for 3 of these. Gaius, Helicath and Supreme Elhain. I only did Elhain because she was my starter.. I have pulled Mother Cybele, Tatura, and Karato, whom I think is much better than a 5 especially with Yumeko. I have also pulled 2 Mighty Ukko's in the last 3 weeks. Think you should look at Karato's kit again. Much more than just a hard hitter with a passive. 3 hitter single target big weaken on the a1. Single target 2 turn stun a2 and 100% block active skills aoe on the a3 which cannot be resisted with Yomeko on the team. My main point being that most of these are just way too much effort to fuse these days and if you play long enough you will eventually start getting them anyway. πŸ™‚

  25. Razel mainly only good for CB and maybe Hydra cause takes forever to get that speed to 100, unless they buff it to +10 speed instead of +5 per use of that skill. But still much better choices for CB then him. I would rate him a 7.

  26. I have noticed more how good a champ is has more to do with how much it costs to do it, and how fast it comes after the previous one. People are trying to justify to themselves not doing it rather than spending $$$ to complete it than how good the champ is.

  27. Sorry but got to disagree with you on this one Nubby.
The problem we are forgeting here is: most of these champions require a crazy amount of time and resources, so for example Lonatharil is average, well cool ally atack and good in Scarab, but if you can do fusions you probably have like a Fatman or something like that and an Armiger in destroy set for scarab, so he won't make a difference. Same with Morrigane, she's like High Khatun 1.2. Is she useless if I open her from a shard in the early mid game? No. But if I can calmly do fusion I probably have people who do her job. In my case was Arbiter as speed champ and Kurzad with 100% decrease speed A1 for Iron Twins.
Anyways this is my opinion, good thing about this game it's there are a thousand ways to play it

  28. I never thought Oella sucked. It's just that it wasn't a Pythion and after getting both Gnishak and Pythion I just didn't have the resources and willpower to go for her after going for two more, being F2P. Hell, I was still feeling the Fusion burnout when Supreme Elhain came around and only now I'm taking on another Fusion again.

And we have had more fusions like that. Dreng is great, but I wasn't able to beat UNM yet as I was struggling to find the resources to build Helicath – a fusion I did go for.

  29. Sigmund I think was rated as fair but demytha was part of the fusion and considered much more unique and valuable so most of the community prioritized keeping her. Also I think Karato is a bit underrated he is in the fastest clear of shadowkin faction wars and was key for me hits hard and has lockout.

  30. Hurndig is awesome He was my first fusion and I remember Hades skipping saying he was good Zargala 2.0. But he wanted the hippo for skinwalker revive. He now calls it out as biggest fusion regret.

  31. Razz is an extremely solid champion in a vacuum but he is almost deliberately designed to not fit into any existing metas from before his release. Teams or even whole accounts need to shift to accommodate him and not the other way round but obviously the community despises that kind of design. He's not alone among the fusions with that kind of design either and that's why some of them were severely underrated.

  32. A point to make re this 'they suck' thing – as a more causal ftp who doesn't main just raid, going for a fusion is a big deal, not something I do lightly, thus the line between good enough is a lot higher for me.

  33. I have 2 rules
1.if I can get it without wanting to destroy my life to do it I will.
    2. Never miss a void fusion since if there considerd crap they are usually buffed reasonably quicker then a non void fusion.
Agree that the overall view is extreme and typically more negative but thats because most want the next brogni or duchess or spihi meta champ to be the fusion not someone that would only help most mid game accounts or fill a fw spot as we say there atleast good for fw πŸ˜‰
