Not sure how you can achieve that, but you need more automation, including in gathering activities ! Also your production of bottle should ramp up, way too low by now !

to get the better tools i think you get them in quests
When you start mixing potions I recommend you take notes. The game doesn’t keep track of the recipes.
I suspect the next tier of tools is something you have to find as opposed to something you have to work through the tree to unlock
