Part 5/9 Little Ribston Park 10 mile Pleasure Ride.
Little Ribston is located on the River Nidd, 4 miles (6.4 km) north of Wetherby and 3 miles (4.8 km) south-east of Knaresborough. The Ribston Pippin apple originated here when Sir Henry Goodricke planted the first seed brought from Normandy in the 18th century and a stump of a later tree is still preserved in Ribston park. Ribston Hall is a privately owned 17th-century country mansion
The estate at Ribston was granted by Robert de Ros to the Knights Templar in 1217 and passed to the Knights Hospitaller on the demise of the templars in the early 14th century. Following the Dissolution of the Monasteries the property reverted to the Crown and was granted to the Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk, who sold it to Henry Goodricke in 1542.

He has a lovely collected canter and is a great farter. He is herd leader over Farouk who is a pure-bred Arabian horse, Farouk is 8 years old and loves galloping and is a good endurance horse. He is the Grandson of the famous Marwan Al Shaqab and then there is Princess Bella a Three-Year Old pure-bred Andalusian filly her speciality is bucking and jumping for joy.

Hi Tara and Rens, Once he got a chance to stretch his legs and burn off some energy Farouk stopped the head tossing. The ice finally went off the lake this week and lovely temps above normal but no trees in leaf yet. The pair of loons are back on our bay – yeah but so are the Canada geese – boo. If they get up on the lawn they make a mess, but the geese returning are a sign of spring. Enjoy your ride.
I think Farouk knew you were going to say canter, even before you got it out🏇⭐

Farouk may not be at his fittest, but he is certainly showing his endurance credentials. He is listening so well. It is a good omen for the endurance season!

What an invigorating ride I had with you, Tara. Watching farouk's mane blowing in the wind & his head bobbing up & down made me feel as tho I was on his back. Such a sweet lad he is & extremely alert to your commands. I always wonder though, on these rides, looking at the ground & seeing where other horses have left hoofprints, how the horses keep from twisting their ankles & falling. Hopefully this isn't a big problem. I truly enjoy your videos & thank you so much for posting them, Tara. Blessings!♥

Faroukl isnt shaking his head but instead thanking mum for these lovely long canters now! I love how his fringe flies from side to side as he flies – I think it's signature Faroukl! Gorgeous. His mane is gorgeous too. I cant remember it always being two-tone though? Lovely ride. Girls a bit rude. You did well, Tara! ❤❤

Surprising how some people respond to you for passing and others ignore.
Nice riding and the rain is holding off thank goodness. Farouk hates to walk through it but if no rider or saddle mad bath for sure. Just love that about Farouk 🐴plus other horses who love mud to roll in. 🤗♥️
If someone on a horse is asking if they can go ahead, common sense would dictate to please allow them to proceed. And if one is on a breed that is known for endurance, that goes double. Farouk is a proven endurance and speed breed. Nuff said.

I love that you have control and always ask about going past and never just canter/gallop past but walk as you have a great awareness of other riders and their horses who might not have the control or experience that you have, you are quite a herd leader yourself Tara ❤
