Massive Milestone for Cruiser #dingo

Luke has been putting in the extra hours these last couple of weeks to advance Cruiser through some of his issues, knowing how much he wants to be a part of the pack. Well last night it was all more than worth it. So much more. It felt like a gift. We wanted to celebrate.

What a milestone for Cruiser. Good on you Cruiser, you’ve worked so hard.

  1. I love how well educated the pack (Gus is a holiday doggie and Rosco is a newbie mostly) is that you can leave an open gate and the dogs won't leave through it without being invited to do so. Splendid. Glad you have a watch dog crew. Glad also you let Rosco onto the side-by side 4 wheeler. Hooray for Cruiser the fabulous Dingo K-9! Hope Cruiser does fine with the Feline crew.

  2. Omgosh. That is just awesome. And Crusier was so gentle with Kitty Rose. I'm in awe of Crusiers actions all the way from the gate area where he was so calm to coming into the house. And at feeding time he was so calm. Good boy, indeed, Criusier. What a milestone, indeed!!!

  3. I wanted to share my experiences with our dingo and cats. We rescued 2 kittens, a dog and a dingo all within the space of a week or two and they were all the same age when we got them, 11-12 weeks old. So they all grew up together. They were all good friends. As the dingo got older he became more dominating over the cats. By 4 yrs old the cats were almost permanently living on top of wardrobes, cupboards, roofs and anywhere up high out of his reach as he became more threatening to them. They went from sleeping together every day to avoiding each other all together. It made me sad so I researched that dingoes don’t reach peak maturity until 4 yrs old, which is when the cats went from pack members to potential prey for him.
The moral to the story is it is common for dingoes living with cats in domestic homes to go from being friends with the cats their whole life to turning against them and seeing them as prey. Its just good to be very aware this can happen and we live in a very nurturing home where animals needs come first, and all are well trained, obedient pets. So there was no reason for this behaviour other than instinct. 😅

  4. Freddo is the bestest gatekeeper ever! ❤ How wonderful to see Cruiser relaxing inside, wagging his tail and giving Luke little licks. He even settled quickly after his initial rush to get out at the sound of the dishwasher starting up and was chilled when he met Kitty Rose. Well done Cruiser, you're reaping the benefits of Luke's awesome training techniques 👍 I laughed when he popped his head up over the kitchen counter to let Luke know he was there for handouts too 😄 A beautiful, calm evening with the pack….love it ❤❤

  5. Cruiser has the cutest face. Nice to see him inside with the rest of the pack. Auntie Sam, I’ll be looking for a book entitled “There’s A Dingo In The House” written and illustrated by you. ✨✨

  6. Ok I've been back here a few times…it is just so amazing to see a wild animal bond with a human and be accepted in their pack. So precious. I would rather have a pure, honest connection with an animal than some people. This is really, really special.

  8. Anyone else have this problem? I have trouble watching these videos when I have any dogs with me – they can't figure out where all the dogs are and what all the barking's about. They get all worked up. And I dogsit so there are usually dogs around. Hmm.

  9. Congratulations Luke,Sam and CRUISER! It is a fantastic milestone when an animal can learn to trust in folks that are so kind, generous and self giving to help animals that others have given up on. Enjoyed the whole video, especially the sped up parts. 🤣Very creative! The rest of your devoted pack will continue to help Cruiser fit in, as they follow your lead of acceptance of all the Creator*s creature. Thank you and God bless! 🌻🐾🌈💖
