I’m so excited for this to see the process we are getting ready to buy land and this is giving me amazing ideas for what I want to do and how to set it up thank you for documenting this whole process as always the effort the passion in the love that you put in each video speaks to so many thank you for all your time
Have you ever heard of Russ Finch from Alliance Nebraska. He has a geothermal greenhouse that allows him to grow citrus trees in Nebraska all year long. His plan is very affordable. He claims it can be installed in a few days with two guys and a backhoe. People from all over the world have come to tour his place and they are even trying to use it in the desert in Egypt. Just google, "Grow Oranges in the snow in Nebraska." It used to cost 12K for the entire kit. It has a small foot print too. Something too think about before you lay down that big concrete pad.
You live in The Gorge? I thought you were still in Vancouver, Washington?
Thank you for sharing your journey.
How does Baby E fare?
Your garden will be so beautiful when done. I am going to try raised bed gardening for the first time this year and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with your new setup this year!
SO glad you're doing hardware cloth in the beds after all pf that work to make the beds nice
As a former professional gardener I really dislike having pea gravel or crushed stone on pathways. Why? Its a bitch to weed. Really. Soil always falls on your pathway and there ya go..more weeds. If you can eventually afford it, pavers. The garden beds are really, really nice btw. I'm jealous.
Laura of Garden Answers had a Hartley Greenhouse installed. Professionally crew built. No stress!
For God's sake give them more than 2 cookies, you have plenty to share!
Did you take down some of your past videos? Can't find them in the listing…
❤😊😊😊
Im absolutely loving the garden progress! Its so exciting, thank you for taking the time to take us along! Also, you may not hate the 4ft bed. My husband made our beds 4ft tall and 4×8. It really is a lot less bending over to weed than our 2ft beds. Im 5"4 and can reach halfway across and just go around to the other side when needed. Eitherway, your progress is beautiful!❤ much love from Wisconsin
Wow!!! Super Impressive!!!
Becky did you use cedar wood for the raised beds?
I'm so glad that you gave a cheese update. My Azure Standard order is coming next week. I'm going to try doing the same with it.
Your channel is fascinating! I applaud your success. You are relatable to me. I see so many people in different high profile situations..golfers, celebrities, many others…when they have much success, people turn away, or become critical. I say more power to each of them! You don’t have success without brains, talent, and hard work. I have learned from you. Thank you so much. 🙂
Wow looks great. Good for u
I love that you give them eggs and bake things for them it’s so sweet and kind 🥹
Grower solution they have greenhouses Living Traditions has one in there on their Homestead and love it…
Beck, I hope I’m not to late with this info: we’re north of you in Clark County and moles (and maybe rats, I’m not sure) have come up from the bottom of our 2 1/2 foot tall raised beds. I strongly recommend lining the bottom with hardware cloth (1/4 or 1/2 inch grid wire material) before you add soil. Chicken wire definitely won’t keep the moles out; it has to be hardware cloth.
Can we see your new furniture?
There is a company called Ceres and i think they have custom kits as well as build on site services for greenhouses. High quality.
Sungrow has a variety of different sized greenhouses and they can be extended if you find you want to make it larger later. From Canada, so can take 6 feet of snow and up to 65 mph winds.
Your landscapers have done an incredible job so far. You are lucky to have found them. Everything looks great. I love how you have the egg peace offering. So funny.
Might I suggest bird netting? It’s really cheap.
We have a Planta Greenhouse and it’s rated for high winds and heavy snow load. We’ve had no issues and it’s my favorite place on our homestead! ❤
Look at living traditions homestead for ideas on their green houses. Alice
Everything looks nice, I don't know what kind of fence your going to put in, but have you thought about hot wire? I don't know the cost but it wouldn't block your view as much.
Eggs as a peace offering. I laughed so hard.
Now you have me craving barbecue pizza. They look delicious Yum. Your garden is coming along so nicely. It’s going to be amazing.
Isn't it funny how some projects just can multiply and get so much bigger than anticipated? It is going to be just fantastic when it is finished.. Will you ever go over pricing for parts of projects? Would be intersted to know what builders are charging up there from here in AZ.
Look up Billy’s bone sauce at Perma Pasture Farms to keep DEER AWAY! It’s expensive but works! Great YouTube channel too!!
I love watching your content and how you build. You said you are in the Columbia Gorge, Oregon or Washington? I live in Pasco, WA so we get pretty much the same weather and wind. For your greenhouse, make sure it can withstand some of the awful windstorms we get here in the Pacific Northwest. What town are you in? I will be making your biscuits on Easter Sunday. They look super yummy.
I'm super anxious 2 see what this deer fence looks like. I live in the Blue Ridge Mtns, not 2 far from your home show event yall went 2 in Va.. However I'm in the eastern panhandle of WV & the dear here will destroy your garden in a heart beat. They don't care if it's produce or decorative flowers, they devour everything & it's so frustrating!!
We got our greenhouse from Charlie's in LaConner. We got the "kit" and assembled it ourselves. It's still doing great after 18 years!
Ask Jessica over at roots and refuge. She has a greenhouse and I do believe it’s self built. (I think it was actually her husband that built it)
You all need a good spot now outside 2 hang a lil swing out for Baby A. Then while Becky works outside your lil guy can swing in a lil baby swing. They have a ton of different styles, some adjust with age & can last awhile! He'll be a busy boy by the time your in actual spring/summer days!!
I don't see your cookie recipe here. By the way all the work you guys are doing is crazy. Looks good, but is crazy. Hope you enjoy it for many, many years to come.
Please please talk about where all the drainage and water is going to go. Basically physic is not making sense to my husband or I. Also feel just fabric eill not keep out voles, moles and skunks as we know from experience that work right thru that. We had to redo whole deck and add chicken wire inside and around. Also, how do you think the fabric will hold all that dirt for years to come. 😮
We put that mesh in our beds because we have alot of ground hogs and we ended up taking it out. Hubby thought the roots couldn’t grow deep enough.
Stones are BRUTAL on your feet… awful for kids especially when they fall on them!! Ask my kids noooooooo
are you planning a deer fence? I'm just thinking that lots of little critters can eat things right out of the beds, like a drive through, not just underneath!
You so genuinely want other people to learn and grow. It's so lovely and refreshing! 🙂
Smart preventing voles and moles with the metal mesh!
