I really think that the Pokemon “Legends” series, should be just that. I series of games that exist as part of the Pokemon Cycle. There is SO MUCH opportunity here.

As much as I'd agree, I loved the first legends game, I really think we need pokemon games that have much more emphasis on battling. The core games just don't scratch the battling itch.
It’s the only pokemon game that properly conveys the actual suspense of catching a pokemon hoping it won’t see you.
I think there absolutely is space to make another Legends game, and the simplest way to do it is to fuse it with Pokemon Snap. Wild, untamed frontier? Check. Chances to study pokemon in their natural habitat? Check. Additional conditions to modify catching chances, like food and interacting with the environment? Check. Experimental new combat? Well Snap is definitely not a mainline title, so….check.
Cant wait for another unfinished game from an indie company
I feel like we would get a Pokemon Legends series because the games are just that fun! I would love to see one for Johto,Unova, and Kalos.
Despite my strong disdain for Legends: Arceus as is, I definitely agree with all your points you made here and think Legends should continue as a series.
I do still think future paradox Pokemon are not actually from the future though so I don't see that panning out, but yeah the games don't even have to be in the past per se they just have to explore Pokemon lore very heavily and could even explore the lore of a new region/Pokemon if they really wanted to.
One point I will make is that I do not like how empty the world of Hissui was. Future Legends games should incorporate more towns and settlements with more trainer battles and objectives. Also, obviously the game shouldn't be broken up like PLA was and just be fully open. And for goodness sake figure out how to add difficulty in a fun a challenging way instead of the awkward arbitrary "difficulty" that PLA had. The game imo should still feature its own online trading and battling functionality and have something akin to a battle frontier so there's actually longevity to the game. Pokeballs should be collectible and not turn into strange balls when transferred. As someone who collects apriball Pokemon, it was absolutely infuriating that I spent so much time catching stuff in different "new" balls only to find that all that work wouldn't matter at all and they weren't even up front about it. Lastly, maybe make boss battles you know…not throwing snacks. It could be more like survive this onslaught of attacks in a sort of puzzle like arena and then when the boss wears itself out you can use your Pokemon to attack it or things within the arena can become ways that you can deal damage/pacify a boss.
Catching Pokemon in real time is the best thing. They can add battling ppl but it's cool overall
As a fan of many ATB turn based rpgs like Final Fantasy X and etc, I do love Legends Arceus battle system.
On paper.
In practice, I think they missed the mark on a few things.
For starters: abilities and held items really should of stayed in the game. Along with more moves and pokemon, it really felt like no matter what you did, everyone always ends up with the same 12 pokemon at the end of the game because of the lack of variety. Held items and abilities are absolutely needed.
Secondly, the idea of the strong and agile style is cool. Being able to manipulate the ATB turn order is a great way to take advantage of the system. But its also redundant. There really isn't a need for "strong style" when moves like Hyper Beam and Giga Impact already have a "strong style" mechanic built into them. Seems like it would be better to streamline the system, get rid of the Styles, and just rebalance all the moves to naturally be able to affect the turn order themselves.
And lastly: ATB battle systems are only fun if there are multiple people and opponents on the field. Pokemon is mainly known for its 1v1 fights and it doesnt take full advantage of the battle system. The game lets opponents throw 2-4 pokemon at you, but youre still at the mercy of your one pokemon. If you were even able to send out a second pokemon, it would be all the difference in the world in how the battles flow. Its the kinetic back and forth and rubberbanding and chess playing of ATB battle systems that make them fun, but its done in games where you have multiple party members with multiple attacks and options to choose from. You can't do that in a pokemon game where you have one pokemon with "4 move slot" syndrome.
Pokemon actually can do the ATB turn based battle system. They just need to move on from the rock paper scissors Gameboy gameplay and let pokemon evolve into a more modern turn based rpg and adopt some of these modern mechanics if they want to continue in this direction.
I would LOVE for Legends to become a series, I loved seeing Pokemon World in the past, and it's actually the first time I had a lot of fun catching pokemon and trying to fill out the dex, I was actually more invested in that than continuing the main story. So I hope Legends will continue and be it's own series, though I don't want the next game to be Kanto. I'd hope for any other region than Kanto. I think my top pick would either be for BW to see that Full Dragon, and to see if it would happen in Unova or would it happen somewhere in Pokemon's version of Europe, as it'll depend on how closely they want to reflect NY/America, I'd also love to see Kalos and see that war and maybe Zygarde will finally have some proper attention; I'd also be up for Jhoto and see the burning tower and the birth of the beast trio.
I agree + Pokemon conquest 🕊️
I’ll take a legends game over a modern remake anytime of the week. Also I believe legends Arcues sold really well (12 million iirc) so Gamefreak would be stupid to not make another legends title
As someone who plays Monster Taming games mostly for the collection aspect, this game was really special to me. I really hope they keep making more. Definitely leaving cash on the table if they just leave it with one game
I would love more Legends games! I had more fun with that game than I´ve had with a mainline Pokémon game since ORAS.
Yes sir Gale of darkness 2 and more poke legends 👍👍
This is a safe space so I can say, but even right now Legends is going to have a far better Legacy than whatever SV was trying to do.
It was the game that most of us were expecting the kickoff generation 8 and somewhat justifies the white lies that were used to attest why Dexit happened.
You can really feel a lot of the features from pla missing in scarlet and violet.
I would love more Legends games. I think they are putting themselves in a box of they try to stick to some kind of canon. Just make a Legends game because the gameplay was fun.
Pokémon Legends, at least in my opinion, should have been first Pokémon game for Switch, because unlike SwSh (SwSh was just upscaled mediocre 3ds game in my opinion) it was actually entirely new take on Pokémon formula and FOR ONCE it was actually decent game overall…
It’s just a shame what afterwards we got Scarlet/Violet what not only abandoned most of great new additions from Legends but also extremely technically flawed…
Never get attached to anything about the pokemon games. Features and pokemon are fleeting.
Pokémon Legends Arceus was the best Switch Pokémon game so far for me.
I hope they continue this trend. Personally,I want them to give me Legends Zygarde, considering that poor thing got no own game and lives forgotten in a cave! Transport the player to a distant future, that would be cool, nowadays even more with Pokémon from the past and the future
legends is what pokemon fans always wanted
it just needs trainers and gyms
Legends Arceus will be a 1-off game, but I'm glad it exists and I'm glad your channel does too! Good content!
With the decrease in connectivity we are seeing in gen 9, I do think games with unique battle mechanics are far more valuable than your standard remakes. I gained a lot of appreciation for the Strong/Agile style system during my second playthrough because it allows Pokemon like Lopunny to be far more useful than it otherwise would be thanks to it's access to a plethora of priority moves. I also liked how accuracy and evasion were combined into a much more balanced and well distributed obscure status that gave Pokemon like Gastrodon, Toxicroak and especially Hisuian Goodra a very unique tool for their movests.
Without the ability to transfer in any Pokemon/move you want, you might as well just play the original since the move choice won't be nearly as controlled. I'd also really like to see improvements in the stunning mechanics and controls because stunning doesn't deescalate aggro and having to hold the trigger to ready a ball feels really slippery on the Joy-Cons shallow triggers. Pretty much requires a pro Controller to play
Well seeing as how Gen V was the 'hard reset' there may not be any point in remakes after BDSP. And the next Legends could be around Gen II or even Gen V
There’s a lot of fleshed out Pokemon lore they could work with if GameFreak were to continue with these kinds of games. Hey I wouldn’t mind it, I just think they probably won’t revisit it for awhile.
I’d like for it to become a series of games as well. Additionally, for the main games, I want them to bring back a full battle frontier like the ones in HGSS and Platinum.
Legends is literally my favorite Pokémon game of all time, it kind of spoiled me with how seamless, and ALIVE it is/feels, i think it ruined me so much that when S/V came out I was almost completely turned off because there were such key things that Arceus had that makes you feel like you’re genuinely in the world of Pokémon in a sense.
Really hoping we have more Legends games or at least some of the features that made legends great becomes more prevalent, like own world capture, and putting your life on the line to capture these superpowered animals. Even in the anime which takes place in a time period where basically all Pokémon are more or less domesticated capturing a Pokémon still presents some form of danger, and I think that can be displayed without compromising how “kid friendly” the franchise prides itself on being.
It just honestly feels like the company is afraid of that permanent evolution to the next step of game formatting which is SUPER ironic and lightly frustrating considering
Yes
Personally I absolutely hated legends arceus.
Like don't get me wrong it did plenty i liked
I found the capture system fun, I think the story was good the new forms of old pokemon were cool af.
but the reason i don't gel well with this game is because
i find catching the same pokemon over and over again tedious as hell, I found inventory and crafting tedious as hell (I should specify that this isn't just a legends arceus thing i hate every game with a crafting system and inventory management)
I found the agile and strength combat system freaking pointless.
However putting my personal opinions and bias aside i think they should do more legends games.
Like i say they did fucking great with the new regional pokemon forms hell i'd even argue some if not all are better than scarlet and violets new forms (not including clodsire and anyone who says anything mean about my chonker is banished haha)
but all the starters, zoroark, arcanine and freaking hell ursaluna is so damn cool.
Also i feel they can use them to test new mechanics some i would like to see in the mainline games such as how we got the back attack in scarlet and violet I wouldn't buy it but i know people would be totally down for it. However i feel gamefreak need a break keep in mind they were probably working on this plus scarlet and violet at the same time which is probably why arceus looks like shit and violet and scarlet run like shit dudes are under to much crunch imo ofc.
What would be kinda cool is they could take the protag from arceus and have them travel to different regions.
I'm really hoping for more Legends games. Not just because features and gameplay which were great, but getting lore of old regions and seeing them in a new light. Legends was a better and more polished game than SV also, IMO.
Since gen 1 came out, I dreamed of a pokemon game where the main aspect and content was a fleshed out version of the Safari Zone. PLA was the better than I could have hoped to scratch this itch. I really hope the legends series continues. I know it still has its flaws, but I think it could be great. I just don't know if I have enough faith in Game Freak to actually give it the quality it deserves
Would love to get more pokemon legends games in the future.
