Baby Oliver is here! | Our Labor & Birth Story, NICU Stay & Finally Coming Home!

In today’s vlog we head to the hospital because it’s finally time to meet baby Oliver! We had an early morning, we headed to the hospital around 6 and gave birth to Oliver at 8:31, so it was a very quick birth! We weren’t able to show any of the labor or delivery process this time but we did talk about what happened and how the labor and delivery went. Then we head to our hospital room and have a fairly uneventful night. The next day we were sure we would be heading home but Oliver had some troubles during his 24 hour test so he was admitted to the NICU for a few days. It was scary and stressful but everything resolved itself and we were discharged and headed home. It felt so good to be home with Jackson and Tim. Jackson was so excited to have baby brother home, too! We hope you enjoyed being a part of this special time with us! Thank you for watching and we’ll see you tomorrow with a new vid!

  5. Congratulations and Best Wishes to all of you on the birth of Oliver. He is darling. I think that with a little bit of time Jackson will grow to understand a bit more. I think the idea of just setting a little date with just him is a good idea. Maybe schedule a movie evening with just the three of you when Oliver is asleep. Hang in there! You have done a wonderful job with him.

  6. Something simple we did with my oldest when we brought my youngest home. When baby was down for a nap we built a little fort out of chairs and blankets, then we all sat under it with flashlights and read stories. It was hard to get one on one time with mom but if we timed feedings right there was just enough time for me to take my oldest to the library to check out some new books.

  16. If this was your third or more child, you would care less about how much your other kids touched a new baby as long as it was gentle. 😂

    Jackson is just excited about his new brother & the changes in the household. If he has a lot of energy, give him activities that use up that energy.
    You can easily make a few new house rules- no throwing things around the baby, sit on floor while holding the baby, etc.
    Let Jackson be a part of caring for his brother & mom. Help bathe baby & brush hair, wash bottles, fold laundry, make Jenn a snack, etc.
    Tell Jackson that’s exactly how you used to take care of him when he was a baby.
    Everything will work out- it always does- and don’t waste too much energy worrying about it.

  24. I am genuinely so happy for you guys and Jackson, too. I remember when you made your expecting announcement, I cried happy tears and once again, happy tears. That false labor is a real son of a biscuit, making us women second guess ourselves. I'm so happy for you. 🫶

  25. I wanted to see if Oliver is still having latching issues?? Have you noticed if he might be tongue tied. We had a little girl on Thanksgiving, and she had trouble latching due to being tongue tied. The doctor noticed she wasn't sticking her tongue out past her lips, so we took her to be evaluated. I still exclusively pump, but we were able to get her tongue corrected!! We have a little boy a couple months younger than Jaxon!! So it's been a wild, but fun adjustment.   40. Jenna’s birth story is why I tell everyone to prepare for birth like you may not have an epidural! Epidurals don’t always work and you may not always have time! But doing work and having other options in your tool box can make it so much easier and less painful

  42. My baby is 3 months old and this exact same thing happened to us. He failed his 24 hr test and took his away to the NICU. I wish I would’ve seen this video before my birth, to give me peace because he was in the NICU for 10 days and it was such a traumatic experience. Thank you guys for sharing, I’m hoping this encourages any new mommas that sometimes babies just need a little assistance as they enter the world! So happy Oliver is thriving and doing well.
