Once you donate a total of bugs and fish to the museum, you can purchase a bug book and fish book. They are expensive but you can walk around and hold one and it will tell you what they are and how much you can sell them for. It will also have a ? if you have not caught it before.
A thunder egg is what you can get, rare chance, when it's raining and it drops. You will hear a loud thunder boom. It's brown and shows electricity around it. The Big birds will be in the Tropics and can hatch a Mu egg in Spring. Those are light green and you can sell them. Some can be quite a bit of Dinks.
Good job taking out that bush devil.. they are very aggresive and sleep during the day. Also cooked meat and cooked croc meat will replace health much more than the fruits .. fruits for stamina, meats health is the best traveling choices. By the way,the shells are something that the others sometimes request on board posts and as job requests so having a stash available isn't a waste of space if you have the storage, also they are used to make compost.
Something you could do to up your hunting level without actually hunting, is keep an eye on diggo dens in the morning, or keep an eye on a croc somewhat nearby. They'll often attack other animals and leave meat behind. If you pick up the meat and bones, or whatever else an animal drops, that will slowly up your hunting level. Not as much as if you were to hunt on your own, but still!
Thunder Egg is a rare drop. It only spawns during storms, usually close to you with a crazy loud clap of Thunder. Its brown and crackles with electricity.
The big Wary Mu birds only have large green eggs in Spring. If you mark the nesting locations on map as you find them, it makes "stealing & selling" to John, really fast and lucrative. My most in one day is 19 eggs but I used teleporters.
You are gonna be glad you are getting your rree orchard up and running. Those 4 fruit trees will give ya fruit salads for food and pavlova when ya get big chicken eggs and sugar. They also sell for a decent amount. Cooked apples for health too.
Gratz on all the hunting. Wow, level 1 to 5 in a day! Collect flame sac when Bush Devil dies. Used for Flaming Bat which is good damage over time used with spear.
The Frilly's are a passive animal unless attacked.

Sometimes, in Deep Mine dungeons, you can find a Boogie Board and you can swim pretty fast on it.
At bug level 10 ya can make an apiary. Bust bee hive to find a queen bee.

Bush Devils are mostly in Pine Forest which is the dark green pine trees area.
When the dingos kill something, if you can pick up the meat on ground, it will level hunting too.
When you buy a torch light, you will find it useful on birds and stunning all critters.
Wait til ya eat cooked croc meat.
