Starts out Like Monty pythons "The Holy Grail".🤔
what a load of crap
96 Really….That Actor playing the King must never Age.He was the Eagle king in Flash Gordon in like 79
The Bruse just hung out in a crawl space watching a spider, FOR FOUR YEARS !!! HAHA
Was the opening scene The Black Douglas attempt at burying The Bruce’s heart in the holy land but fell short in Iberia?
17:52 anyone notice the Bayeau Tapestry? For 1996 and 20 minutes in there’s so far some neat historical tidbits tucked away if you aren’t overly critical
I dont see this as being so bad a movie for 1996——-The important thing is that the play perks someones interest in history so that they take it upon themselves to look into our past and its truths…read some books, read some chronicles of the times…Most movies are not made as history lessons but as entertainment, have to keep that in mind…I see the Black Douglas taking Bruce’s heart to the Holy Land, Ive seen the Bayeu Tapestry, Ive seen some correct Heraldry in Livery…So all in all after 26:39 Not such a bad movie.
27:01 “First you get the Spirit of the Stag and the Pride of your ancestors coursing through your veins” 🤍Unfortunately too many Europeans have Afros Arabs and 🌈 in their mind 24/7
40:10 Beautiful countryside….Read that it was filmed at Craigmillar in Edinburgh and Peebles on the Anglo Scott borders….
This was back before Britain was black 😂….Nice to see a movie where they aren’t making Medieval Britain to be sub-Saharans
One day perhaps the Bruce will be held accountable for his treachery. King I think not.
Not universally loved he did murder a priest in church before going on the run FYI.
Bruce also well done by Kevin Costner
Low budget but an honest and competent telling of a story
about real events in Scotland- England history.
I have not seen a movie this good in many years. Thank you so much for uploadeng! Very much appreciated!
I think Long Shanks was a referral to his legs being long, Re Edward 1
So why in Braveheart was The Bruce shown as a traitor?
1:05.00 they wouldn't have taken off the helmet and looked? 😢
My Brother and nephew where extras in this Blockbuster epic!

Sir James Douglas died in Spain not in egypt
Too Funny that Edward I (Brian Blessed) at the 19:24 mark suggests the Scotland is "the asshole of the universe," yet English armies fought repeatedly for Over 3 Centuries to "conquer" Scotland, and nearly another 100 Years spent to maintain control of the sovereign Scottish people under the iron rule of the English Crown….!!! 🤣
One of the best lines in the film, "We don't need glory, we need the end of Edward's grip on the throat of Scotland." – Robert the Bruce 👍
Perhaps even a bit "funnier" too was that this film was characterized and released by Cromwell Productions Ltd….. 🤪
Was The Bruce a real hero? I guess if you want to call a murdering back stabber a hero, go for it.
ROFLMAO 😂😂😂😂
The fact its got Oliver Reed and Brian Blessed in the film was worth the watch alone, even tho it was a low budget production it was a good film
