Man competes in Los Angeles Marathon to honor late wife's memory



It’s been a year since Ryan Paddock’s wife collapsed and died of a heart attack after completing the Los Angeles Marathon back in 2022.

For this year’s L.A. Marathon, Ryan is is raising money for the Asian American Drug Abuse Program while competing in the marathon himself to honor’s his beloved wife’s memory.

KTLA’s Samantha Cortese reports on March 18, 2023.

Hey Ryan!… Name is Alex and I live on the East Coast in the state of Vermont and just watching the short video… First of all you are probably one of the most awesome husbands I’ve ever come across on video… Deepest sympathy on your loss, your wife was absolutely stunning… I’m not sure if this marathon has happened already or it’s on its way, but either way to do this for your late wife is absolutely phenomenal… My mom and dad passed away almost 6 years ago and mom was from Italy. So I’m sure your wife is eating raviolis at my parents table up there at the pearly gates… Be strong dude… Alex in Vermont
