When it comes to fried chicken, I feel the same way when it comes from say KFC, or Safeway and a couple other places. KFC added citric acid to elicit a sense of freshness to their food but it always just tastes terribly bitter to me like fry oil that needs to be replaced. Other places also wind up wayyyy over salting their chicken to the point that it tastes like biting into a hot dog at times.
