DRAMATIC moment helicopter rescue team pull man from swollen Los Angeles river just in time.
Aerial footage showed the man clinging on to a concrete barrier wall as a rescuer from the Los Angeles Fire Department Search and Rescue Team was lowered down from a helicopter.
The rescue worker then secured the main to a cable before the pair were hoisted back up to the helicopter.
It was not immediately clear how the man came to be in the water. The man was taken to USC Medical Center to be treated for hypothermia.
The river has been inundated with rain as the West Coast is getting pounded by an usually wet season following two decades of drought.

Yoo wsp again
I know it's been tough on a lot of CA communities but I'm thankful for all this rain (and snowpack), the drought is over.
Sexsist, they should send women to do that.
How do you even end up there..
THAT is a man made river…WTF was that guy doing in it?
I guess lowering the rope down to him and pulling him up, wouldnโt have been easier
Thank you to those who save lives.
Excellent work by rescue team
Next time California screams drought, remember this video. All this water is flowing directly to the Pacific Ocean. Trillions of gallons everyday. Enough to fill all the lakes and aqueducts, then some.
Save Lives is priceless, many thanks to rescue team
California drought seems well and truly over.
Wouldn't it be easier to just pull up a truck with a winch over the railing? Helicopter seems overkill
Wow Thatโs America
Jesus bless and leads the rescuers and also their family and their country
He was lucky to be spotted in his dark jacket. I am surprised they did not abseil down with a winch on a fire engine, the helicopter makes a lot of spray and bounces around. Perhaps they had it close by. The rotors dried him off nicely anyway.
Just another day at work for…. Rescue Man.
heroes
Can you imagine? Like honestly try to imagine what it must have been like, the fatigue and making peace with the fact that your about to die or fall back like.. just wow.
๐!insane bravery on our helecopter rescues teams๐!
Amazing
Well done.
What a Boss that rescuer is. Big thanks to all the people who put their lives on the line to help complete strangers.
These men are bad donkey Elite imagine being the helicopter pilot dipping your buddy in the water ๐๐ฏ
rescued a homeless dude
Harness was suboptimal. Lucky he didnt slip.
Why that man was in the river?
Great rescue but I'm wondering why they didn't just repel down the wall and get him then be hoisted back up with a winch system. They were right there above him. Why the helicopter approach?
As a dislexic I read the headline all wrong…
I thought the headline said "Team Pulled Swollen Man From Rescuer…" ๐ข๐ฎ Ouch
๐๐๐good cooperation of the team and a good result. Greetings from Estonia! โ๐
"A man has fallen into the river in lego city"
this is an over-engineered rescue that could have gone very wrong and will end up bieng expensive , throw a blood y rope over and yank him up
