This game has the best character creation of all time.
Story was cringe. Being able to skip cutscene wouldve helped. Otherwise, cool soulslike game
This is like Anime DarkSiders.
play monster hunter already
bLOOD VEIL…WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TRY TO PLEASE YOUR ANIME WAIFU AND FIND OUT TOO LATE THAT ITS HER "tIME OF THE mONTH"!!!
Muscle memory is the problem, play Dark Souls and then Bloodborne and youll heal yourself all the time 😀
It's a Master piece please don't underrated it.
Reminds me of SAO Fatal Bullet
Not a polished game, but is overall a fun game to play
Very surprised he didn't make his character look like Guts…
My OCD to need to get every item was going crazy watching MR gold ignore so many items
Waifu Souls, kind of enjoy this game like Wo Long.
Hey Asmon, I know you said throw advice in the trash, but just for you to know: every boss has a "startup" period where they have 90% damage reduction. There's also a phase transition which has 90% damage reduction until the change is complete.
Just wanted you to know so you don't be confused. 👊
This game got me into the dark souls genre.
this game is proof that anime writing is complete garbage but weebs ignore cuz they're retarded kek
He's so fucking hilarious I swear I love him
This isn't new. This game is actually amazing.
Code Vein is my favorite Not Souls game. Music is amazing and victory lap speed runs were fun.
I couldnt force myself to finish this crap
And i am usually avoiding such hard words because i think there are too many out there already but for gods sake
For every moment that you experience something nice in the game there are five moments of irritation, wheter its about the horrible leveldesign or the mediocre writing or what had we
you created sykkuno
This game is excellent. I loved it
1:49:50 "idk where I'm going, what I'm doing, or anything about the game." How when you're nearly 2 hours in?
This game is my favorite souls clone. It has very good soundtrack, very good and complete story with multiple ending which is rare in the soul genre. Characters customization is very well done and very easy to mod. I have spent many hours to play, speed run, challenge run and coop. The only games that comes close is Elden Ring, Sekiro and DS3.
It is also the type that get better the more you get better at the game. In the first few play through you are very inclined to buff and attack only as you are overwhelmed with how many skill/spell it has and want a simple playstyle. However when you start to explore it, you find out there are many many way to play differently. The potential of role playing and build diverse in the game are so huge. It is possible to beat all the bosses in the game with different set of skill/playstyle each time. You can be an immortal tank, sword skill user, charge spammer, dark/light spell caster, gunner, etc each with different way to play. The ichor regain system is what keep it together where you attack to regain you ability resource so it encourage using your resource along side normal fighting more than any other souls games. You rarely feel you are wasting resource on a few enemies or bosses at all. On the opposite, you feel that you want to mix up the attack and spell. It is what Sekiro kind of failed to do with its Spirit Emblem. In sekiro you always feel limited on spirit emblem and spirit emblem drop is not frequent enough and not enough different skill you can use at the same time to style on enemies either. It also has the "original Bloodhound Step" as Dashing Hollow and Vanishing Hollow and with the Ichor regain in this game, it is super abusive and over powered.
Each weapon type has it own blood skill that you can unlock through blood code, same for spell and each feel truly unique when use. The creativity is very good. The animation and effect are also awesome. If you really start to explore the combat, you will get rewarded for future playthrough.
Level design are decent, some are extremely well done with multi layers and vertical level. Unlockable and dungeon are also fun to do and truly feel rewarded while not feeling forced player at all. The weapon infusion and scaling being tied to blood code is also very well developed. Each choice makes impact on your dmg output and talors your build. Some infusion increase the buff power, or how much you regain Ichor rather than just stat scaling. The raw infusion in this game is one of the sample, it increase raw stat and remove scaling but it also has the effect of increase the buff potential so when you use buff, you get better effect. So there is an option to use it for caster and some build even in late game or NG+ unlike DS3 where the raw infusion falls off quickly at like level 30.
It is one of the best soul clone out there. I wished it was a little longer (despite how good the story tied together) and get a sequel to explore more of the world which is sort of tied to God Eater.
Code Vein was my introduction to the soulsborne genre and DAMN do I love this game! From the character creation to the story to the gameplay to the world and all the characters in it, it's all honestly great! Being able to swap classes on the fly and use the mastered gifts and passives from other classes allows for some nutty customization, and that's on top of the wide variety of weapons and blood viels you can get. I'm glad it's getting more attention because this game is a real hidden gem and desperately needs to have a sequel, especially after the true ending (there are bad, neutral, good, and true endings). I know a few people would be turned off just because its anime, but I strongly recommend people give this game an honest chance. It's not perfect, but it's not bad either. The game is worth every penny and has replayability, making it something you can enjoy in the long run. As for the DLC, Hellfire Knight is top notch, Frozen Empress is ass, and Lord of Thunder is alright.
By the way, if you don't like hearing partners talk, you can go into settings and turn off partner dialogue. If you want to play the game solo, especially if you think the game is too easy with a partner, you can rest at a mistle, go to Switch Partner and remove your current partner. As for playing with partners, Yakumo and later Io are objectively the best partners. The former is a gigachad tank bro and the latter is the best healer and best girl.
The coop in this game is so much better than souls. Instant summons, no signs, meaningful coop abilities like buffing, healing, even bringing your friend back from the dead. There's an ability that cuts about half of your hp to give to your friend and you can use it for a second or two after they die to resurrect them. There were moments where my friend and I were passing like 10 hp back and forth keeping each other alive which was genuinely some of the best coop content ive seen in a souls game and I've played them all extensively.
This is one of those unfortunate scenarios where streaming the game makes it considerably worse. Chat's going on about how you need antidotes and different weapons and all sorts of stuff and you're not able to enjoy the game because the real issue is you've forgotten you can block.
Butterfly boss is up there as one of the bosses I have struggled most with solo in any souls game.
my favourite game, hope you continue playing, its very decent game.
The Matthew Mercer voice i always the best choice lol
Just because he said it's cringe don't mean it's cringe absolutely love the game it's better than the dark souls games
love this game. Cool friendship story + dark souls + anime <3 best combo
But this game is pretty good
Game dlc sucked so much potential.
Some of the level designs look very similar so it's easy to get lost. A good game for PlayStation monthly free game this month though.
2:43 holy shit those two look just like Akechi lmao
Only just found out about the game because it's free on PS4 Plus for now never played Dark Souls before but just this game is difficult for me so I think I will pass on Dark Souls
