I’ve now spent over 10 hours with The Finals and it’s easily the most promising debut shooter IP I’ve encountered in a long arse time. Not since Apex has something grabbed me as much as this. This has all the right ingredients to go very large (and I secretly suspect it will).

  1. Sounds like Skill up didn't play Bfbc2 or Bfbc1. Both those games had every building having destruction and it was part of the tactics especially with rush. Or simply things like shooting a hole in a concrete wall so you can use it as a porthole to shoot out of. I really miss that type of gameplay which makes me so excited for this game. I remember being so disappointed in bf3 where they made it look prettier but basically all the meaningful destruction was gone.

  2. I can see the devs who did this game were fans of Battlefield Hardline, it has almost every single tool that game had, the same graphics, etc. I'm so glad to learn about this game

  3. You got a bit of the destruction part wrong when describing battlefield. They had buildings that were fully destructible at one point , they stopped doing that because of the effect it had on gameplay and level design, which is why they swapped to the center structure or shell styles in bf1 and bf5. The finals attempts to remedy this by using smaller levels and better use of terrain

  4. I remember people playing Ace OF Spades and just join under a whole level trying to dig the whole level out, sometimes ruined the experience, so u had to have ur eyes on those who were constantly digging the world down. Man I miss Ace Of Spades

  5. I wish more games did a BP system like Deep Rock Galactic. For that reason I've bought every single one of their cosmetic packs because 1. They look great and 2. The Devs deserve it 100% for being consumer friendly

  6. The destruction is cool, but thats about it, movement is janky and the gunplay isn't good, art style isn't very nice either, just a typical online shooter, played the beta for about half an hour and then deleted it. I reckon it'll be dead a year after a release.
