  1. It might be that because the dash can block a certain amount of damage and the fast dash cool down incentivise frequent use to block damage.
and with the planets giving timed pickups you want to do big patrol route around and dash through blockades and encirclements.

  2. This game looks like a whole lotta NOPE from me dawg. I’m not going to farm dozens of deaths across several hours just for meta progression without at least some sense of victory. Hard Pass.

  3. It definitely feels like the intention is to avoid getting hugged to death by use of boost invincibility frames. I was kind of screaming internally about you never picking those upgrades, lol

  4. OMG the slime trail is so powerful. It does not dissolve over time it just has a max length so if you can get it long enough and doing enough damage you can encase yourself in a spiral and just sit in the middle of it an never move until the last ship shows up, and then you just have to wiggle to dodge the bullets that dont take damage. I did only play the demo though so dont know if it will still work that way.
(I find at least in the demo the best thing to do is just always grab whatever gives the highest DPS each upgrade)

  5. "Focus is one of the least useful upgrades" Wander, it's one of the most important scaling upgrades, because it lets you actually carve through enemies instead of peppering a bunch for no damage later on with the plasma cannon.

  6. A tough bullet heaven sounds awesome.
I'm hoping for more videos of this game, especially with runs of only using a certain weapon.
    Can't wait for more!

  7. The exp stealing enemy at the start is an interesting twist to how most bullet heavens start. Fortunately, you can hunt cubes and gain exp from asteroids as you run away from it, gain some levels and return for revenge. That's how I won the demo with each character anyway. The EA release adds a circle of doom around each elite, so you can't use/abuse them as a breather / gold pickup time as you would in the demo.
No joke, the swarm that appears out of nowhere to hug you is a DPS check. If you're not pouring out enough damage, your run ends there. Devs must have heard comments that the Demo was too easy, and went hard on the difficulty crank.

  8. So is Wander playing the demo here or did he get a creator code for an early version of the game itself? Cause on the steam store, only the demo is available right now.

  9. Really need to use those dashes a little sooner when you see danger on the horizon. Speaking from experience it's better to ensure you're in a clear area before worrying about your DPS, and at 51:10 I'd say once you saw those enemies suddenly start to swarm in a bit it'd have been better to dash to a safer position. Not that I haven't frequently died to the same thing in horde-fighting games…

  10. They desperately need to remove the gold-stealing ship, at least in the early levels (possibly while reducing overall exp). That seems like the easiest balance fix.

Usually in these types of games, when you're behind, big stacks of enemies follow you and you can slowly wear them down to get their exp and catch up. But with all the gold from those enemies being stolen, it seems practically impossible to recover if you can't take down enemies fast enough.

  11. hey Wander i just played the demo a bit and i found out that you can aim with weapons. That makes the firebals a lot better since they are infinate percing i dont now if you can stil aim in your build but you shoud try it!

  12. Dude….almost every one of these you've covered I've ended up buying and loving. If they weren't so freaking cheap I would almost be mad at you (or me) for all these games…..

Thanks for the awesome content!! 🙂
